Frustrating Witnessing Encounters

[A Sower Reports] … Thank you again for the tracts. Today was a very frustrating day as we dealt with two mockers. When I told “Doc”, an ex-Mormon,  he was mocking God, he replied, “Yes, I am mocking God.” He then went on to talk about the council of Nicea, how the book of Judas wasn’t allowed into the canon of Scripture and his belief in the Norse god, Odin and Valhalla. We also encountered a young man that admitted that he had fallen away and knew he needed to repent. I prayed with him and encouraged him to repent and live a holy life. (I forgot to give him a tract! Please pray for Matthew.) Once we left Matthew, my two friends talked about how they didn’t believe Matthew was EVER saved because you can’t fall from grace. We encounter so many people that think they are saved when they are living lives inconsistent with their profession of faith and I believe one of the reasons for this is the belief in OSAS [once saved always saved]. Although I prefer to witness with a partner, I think I may need to  go on my own. It is so difficult to even talk about this with other Christians because OSAS [once saved always saved] is so ingrained, especially here in the South. Well, please pray for me that I will be bold in both witnessing and sharing the truth about OSAS…. I pray for Evangelical Outreach and look forward to… every Sunday.

[Bible Comment] You are a blessing, not only to the people you are witnessing to but to others who observe your godly sacrifice for souls! Out on the streets one will encounter many different kinds of people, as you know.  There are many ex-cultists who remain unsaved. Mormonism is still apparently doing a hurting to Doc as he thinks other books are equal to the ones in the Bible — typical for Mormons. Matthew, the backslider, is proof that the Christian life is not an easy slide into heaven. There are MANY spiritual casualties in this battle for souls. What makes it even harder for a backslider in our day are the many eternal security proponents around. Their false version of grace is a DEADLY snare to all, including themselves! To even be around such people is a strain for Christians, especially when evangelizing. You are better off not being around such heretics, mockers (based on Gal. 6:8,9) and their Scriptural distortions, even if you have to go alone.  I too have made the mistake of evangelizing with once saved always saved advocates in the past. That won’t happen again! The truth is they need evangelized too. Your ability to Scripturally refute OSAS will improve with practice. It’s just like driving a car. Since you already have, “The Believer’s Conditional Security” and it answers their Scriptural distortions, become acquainted with its contents. Remember to use the Subject and Scripture indexes in the back of the book. May God bless you and give you many souls. You are a wise person (Prov. 11:30). Keep sowing God’s word. It won’t return void (Isa. 55:11). Mt. 10:32,33.
