He Doesn’t Know What He’s Talking About

The following Bible answer was sent to a person whose so-called “pastor” (an eternal security teacher) has tried his best to avoid the obvious problems and issues that we raise regarding his false doctrine from documented quotes and contrary Scripture by simply saying, he doesn’t know what he’s talking about! he doesn't know what he's talking aboutSuch a shallow response is more common than some might know. Christian people who have been active in evangelizing and contending for the faith for some time have certainly heard the same objection perhaps worded slightly different as:

  • That’s not what we teach
  • That’s not what I believe
  • I never heard that taught

Regardless the variation, it is an attempt to easily skirt the issues with a simple denial of those teachings. Over the years, a few Catholics, Mormons, Jehovah’s Witnesses and eternal security via Charles Stanley proponents have futilely tried that with us, even as we provide documentation from their own authoritative sources. Here is my answer to this person:

Greetings in Jesus’ name. When you demolish the so-called “pastor’s” false accusations about our teachings point by point, with documented quotes from our 801 page book, realize beforehand that he will probably reject everything you say! Why? Because he has been trained that the Bible teaches a different message than it actually does. Also, he would lose his job as a “pastor” in that congregation and/or denomination. That would jeopardize his house, car, etc.! Few will pay that price, but salvation is much more valuable and worth any price.

FYI, please know when people can’t deal with another’s refutation of their false doctrine, some answer as the so-called “pastor” did! By responding in that way, he:

  • doesn’t have to defend the many points that can’t be defended and at the same time
  • casts suspicion on our credibility.

That is his ploy and what he is hoping he has accomplished with you. Such may work with some people, but shouldn’t be a problem for you or anyone who has our 801 page book, “The Believer’s Conditional Security,” since it has over 700 documented quotes from over 190 sources….

You need to vacate that congregation ASAP, because the “pastor” is disqualified in two ways. His teachings are dangerous and misleading the whole crowd as he changes grace into a license to sin and secondly, he is deceitful and is willing to mislead, as he did in his answer to you, by denying his own teaching! Ask him the acid test question“Did David lose his salvation when in adultery and murder?” He probably will avoid answering it, but if he does, he would answer – “NO”!!!! That proves indirectly what he believes about salvation, that is, a saved person can stray into both murder and adultery and retain his salvation like King David. (He would also deny that Peter lost his salvation when he disowned Jesus three times in contrast to Mt. 10:33 and 2 Tim. 2:12!) He is a ravenous wolf in sheep’s clothing (Mt. 7:15). He looks like a sheep, but is a dangerous enemy to Christians! Don’t let him destroy (or even confuse) you and your family. To support that church, with donations, encouragement, etc. is to share in his wicked work (2 Jn 9-11). Again, vacate ASAP for your SOUL’S sake. GOD BLESS YOU.
