Which Version Of The Bible

(COMMENT) I came across your your response to King James Only Advocate while browsing the internet to try and get my heart and my head to agree on which version of the bible. I also was a Roman Catholic and used a Roman Catholic bible (if there is such a bible) and after years of struggling the Presbyterian Church became my home but ten years later began attending a more fundamentalist denomination which were King James Only Advocates and ever since it has been an issue with me but I’m back with Presbyterian Church In Ireland who use the NIV. I have the NIV Study Bible, it is so easy to understand but shunned by so many who appear to make valid defence of the KJV. Thank you for the help, I will also read Gail Riplinger’s critique and KJV Only Rage (mp3). Yours sincerely,

(BIBLE ANSWER) Greetings in Jesus’ name. We are glad you found us. We MUST be able to understand the Bible to know God’s will, to put it into practice, etc. The KJV is a translation which is NOT understandable. END OF DISCUSSION. The KJV onlyites rant and rave, but they can NOT understand the KJV either! To them that is the most important issue, to get all people to use the KJV!

Glad to hear you are out of the Catholic church, but sorry to read you are going to a Presbyterian church. Because they embrace Calvinism and all 5 points are wrong, that is NOT the place to go! Have you seen this? We have a 801 page book refuting the most DEADLY point in Calvinism – once saved always saved. You can order that NO eternal security book here, if interested. GOD BLESS YOU. Remember Rom. 11:19-23.

Can God Save Any Repentant Person

(BIBLE QUESTION) Can ANYONE repent and turn from sin and be saved? I’ve been reading your webpage and wondering if this is possible? What if someone has committed adultery, engaged in homosexuality, had an abortion, lust, etc. because they believed or were taught once saved always saved? Can they come to the knowledge of truth, repent, and be saved? Sorry for all the questions, but I’m just wondering if God can save them too if they don’t die in their sins and truly repent. Thank you.

God can save an repentant person(BIBLE ANSWER) Greetings in Jesus’ name. YES, God’s wonderful mercy extends to repentant people, who have committed all of those sins you have listed plus others. Here is clear proof from just one passage:

Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God. Such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God. (1 Cor. 6:9-11, NASB)

David got forgiven of adultery and murder, the prodigal got forgiven of wild living and being with prostitutes, Peter got forgiven of disowning Jesus three times and one can get forgiven of a multitude of sins (James 5:19,20).

I have noticed you cited the belief in once saved always saved (or eternal security) with those sins. There is NO DOUBT that the belief in eternal security has led to adultery and broken homes because of it, as well as suicides and criminal acts! Prisoners have written to testify about the crime connection too! George Sodini murdered a number of people and them himself because of the HERESY of once saved always saved! Remember 1 Cor. 2:9. GOD BLESS YOU.

Romans 10:9,10

(BIBLE COMMENT)…You’re correct in saying that not everyone will go to heaven, but isn’t that something only God gets to decide? It IS our duty to tell people about salvation, defined by St. Paul [in Romans 10:9-10] as confessing with our lips that Jesus is Lord, and believing in our hearts that God raised Him from the dead, but why appear so disrespectful and unloving of another’s rather minor doctrinal differences? If these were so important, they would have been mentioned right alongside the requirements for salvation. I believe St. Paul addressed a similar issue in Corinthians, when he scolded that church for their over emphasis on speaking in tongues, and thinking this made them better somehow than other Christians. I will continue to believe in the Lord. I hope you do as well.

(BIBLE ANSWER to a Catholic) You referred to Rom. 10:9,10 which does refer to salvation, but it is only one passage on salvation. [Romans 10:9-10 infers repentance.] There are many other passages which make it much clearer as to what God demands to have salvation – such as GOING TO JESUS FOR ETERNAL LIFE (Jn. 5:39,40) and committing to him to the point of LOVING HIM FIRST, even above your natural family (Mt. 10:34-38). Just going faithfully “to church” is not found in the Bible, as the way to get eternal life. Furthermore, Mary has NO ROLE in our salvation. The Bible was primarily written to make us wise unto salvation through faith in Christ Jesus (2 Tim. 3:15). When a person gets saved, he will be set free from his sin addictions (Rom. 6:22). Can you identify with that? Please carefully read Plan of Salvation and New Creation In Christ. GOD BLESS YOU.

What Is Eternal Life

The only way the question what is eternal life can be accurately answered is to consult the Bible. If we do that, we learn the following about eternal life:

  • Jesus is eternal life (1 John 1:2)
  • It (eternal life or everlasting life) comes instantly to any person (this side of the grave) who comes to saving faith in Jesus Christ (John 3:16; 6:47; etc.) because of having Jesus Christ (1 John 5:12). eternal life everlasting lifeThat means one has the possession of eternal life B-E-F-O-R-E physical death and only Bible-defined Christians have eternal life. That makes the way to life narrow (Mt. 7:13,14) with Jesus alone being “the way” (John 14:6).
  • It is a gift for those in Christ Jesus (Rom. 6:23), but that doesn’t mean that gift comes easily or automatically to all just because Jesus died for everyone (1 John 2:2). Jesus taught:

In the same way, any of you who does not give up everything he has cannot be my disciple. (Luke 14:33)

The Possession of Eternal Life Can Be Lost

There are various ways to get out of Christ (John 15:1-6; 1 John 2:24-26; etc.) and therefore lose the possession of eternal life. 1 Cor. 6:9,10; Eph. 5:5-7 and Rev. 21:8 have listings of sins which describe the spiritually dead. IF you commit such sins after salvation, therefore, you have lost your possession of it.eternal life [Eternal security is candy coated soul poison!] Though the possession of eternal life may change, that doesn’t mean eternal life itself changes. It doesn’t. It will always be life, which is eternal. Other ways of losing the possession of salvation also include disowning Jesus before man (Mt. 10:33; 2 Tim. 2:12), being discharged from (spued out from) the body of Christ by the Lord Jesus himself for being lukewarm (Rev. 3:16), being severed from Christ (the true Vine) by the Father for being unfruitful (Jn. 15:1-6), etc. Hence, we are told to hold on (1 Cor. 15:2; Rev. 3:11; etc.), keep our lamps burning (Lk. 12:35; etc.), keep ourselves pure (1 Tim. 5:22), etc. There is no once in the Son always in the Son, which is the same as the damnable heresy of once saved always saved. Remaining in the Son and the Father is conditional:

See that what you have heard from the beginning remains in you. If it does, you also will remain in the Son and in the Father. And this is what he promised us–even eternal life. (1 John 2:24,25)

An aspect of eternal life has not been given yet and that won’t be until a future age to come (Mk. 10:30). The recipients of it, in the age to come, will be all who overcome to the point of death (Rev. 2:10,11). To reap eternal life, the Christian must now sow to please the Spirit and not give up.

The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. (Gal 6:8,9)

If one has spiritual life, he also has eternal life and salvation.  The person (Christian) who has eternal life is also holy and righteous because of his obedient faith in Jesus Christ (Rom. 6:16; 6:22; 8:10; Phil 3:9; etc.). That righteous standing can change through certain sins, which can bring about spiritual death. There is sin unto death (1 Jn. 5:16,17). Preaching and/or believing a false gospel will also cause loss of salvation (Gal. 1:8,9; 1 Jn. 2:24,25).

Those who endure to the end will be saved (Mt. 10:22; Heb. 3:14). Those same pure in heart people also have eternal life and will go to a Paradise environment in God’s holy presence, IF they continue in the faith. On the other hand, the wicked (or the sinners) go to a fiery place of torment, after their death. They do not have eternal life even though the Lord Jesus died for them, and they will exist forever in torment – never being annihilated. Eternal life, therefore, is not related to merely existing forever. Instead, it is having spiritual life because of Jesus Christ, being in the family of God and dwelling in God’s loving and holy presence after death.

Bible Verses About Eternal Life Reveal It Is NOT:

Jesus died on the cross for our sins and that is related to the salvation of the soul (1 Pet. 1:9). The soul of man is his most valuable possession (Mk. 8:36). Jesus has the words of eternal life (Jn. 6:68) and his teachings pointing people to himself for eternal life (Jn. 5:39,40)! Eternal life is not related to reincarnation or physical life forever. Jesus’ earthly mother Mary has no role in getting or keeping eternal life for us, and she is NOT the mediatrix and dispenser of grace, as Catholicism declares. Mary is NOT our “life, sweetness and hope,” as declared in the rosary. Jesus Christ is that and much more. Do you know Jesus NOW? If not, you don’t have spiritual life now. Do you really have saving faith or just the faith of demons? If you have never been set free from your sin addictions, you have never been saved (Rom. 6:22) and do not have eternal life.

Bible Answer on Divorce and Remarriage

divorce and remarriage

(BIBLE QUESTION) In your advise to the gentleman who asked about divorcing and remarrying, you gave everything except truth – if the spouse man/woman is abusive physically, abusive verbally or totally deny your very existence. You mean to say that God Almighty is pleased just because we made a vow. And that we must endure this harsh treatment of that spouse just because we married. I would like to see it in the Bible where God says it is ok, no matter what husband/wife does, stay and continue to receive all that is given. I have endured for 18 of 31 years, praying and believing mine to change, he is prideful, stubborn, hateful, mean and spiteful yet in church, head committees, teaches and deny that he loves me, or want me and has not done anything for me in 18 years. That is why I am questioning, where is it Written in the Holy Word????????? I need an answer on this.

Bible Answer on Divorce and Remarriage

(BIBLE ANSWER) We are so sorry for his WICKEDNESS being poured out on you in various ways. Please be assured God knows and will send such people to hell for their sins, unless they sincerely repent and follow Jesus faithfully to the end. In spite of your husband’s current sinful heart, the Bible does not allow for divorce and remarriage over that. Ponder this passage:

To the married I give this command (not I, but the Lord): A wife must not separate from her husband. But if she does, she must remain unmarried or else be reconciled to her husband. And a husband must not divorce his wife. (1 Cor 7:10,11)

You don’t have to live with such a cruel person, but you can’t remarry if you leave. That would put you in adultery, according to the Bible. It’s not my message. I’m only telling you what it says. May your husband repent of his sins and get the heart of flesh (Ezek. 36:26), with love shed abroad in it (Rom. 5:5), as do all new creations in Christ (2 Cor. 5:17). Do you know Jesus? Remember, DIFFICULT is the road that leads to life (Mt. 7:14). You must forgive others who sin against you so your own sins can be forgiven (Mt. 6:14,15; 18:34,35).

What Is A Saint?

what is a saintWhat is a saint, according to the Bible? A Bible-defined saint (holy person) is simply a physically alive person with eternal life (a Christian). This is easy to establish since Paul, before he became a Christian, persecuted Christian men and women (who were called saints) with some to their death:

And that is just what I did in Jerusalem. On the authority of the chief priests I put many of the saints in prison, and when they were put to death, I cast my vote against them. (Acts 26:10)

A Saint is Physically Alive

Even in the Old Testament there is clear proof that a saint is a holy person, who is physically alive:

Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints. (Psa 116:15)

When the antichrist gets in power he will make war against the saints.

He was given power to make war against the saints and to conquer them. And he was given authority over every tribe, people, language and nation. (Rev 13:7)

For the antichrist to do that, the saints would have to be alive. He could never make war against people already in heaven. Again, the Biblical evidence reveals that a real saint or a true saint is a Bible-defined Christian — one who is alive and holy. That is solidly and consistently taught in various ways in Scripture and is the only sound legitimate definition. In contrast to that established Biblical definition of a saint, is the Catholic saint in Roman Catholicism.

The Catholic Saint

Catholicism requires two miracles from the intercession of a deceased Catholic to qualify for sainthood, with the pope being the final word on that decision! The process goes from venerable to blessed to saint! For example, former Syracuse nun Marianne Cope (1838-1918) became venerable in 2004, blessed in 2005 and on October 21, 2012 will be canonized a Catholic saint! Since that decision by the Vatican for Marianne Cope to be a saint, a prayer for her intercession has been written for Catholic people to pray. Folks, that is not what a true saint is.

what is a saint

Catholics do not usually pray to God directly, as Christians did in the Scriptures (Lk. 18:13,14; Acts 4:24-30; etc.) and as Jesus commanded his followers to do (Mt. 6:6-8; Jn. 14:14 etc.). NEVER in the Bible did the Christians ever pray to a deceased person, Mary or angels! They always prayed to God or the Lord Jesus and relied upon God. Unfortunately, Catholics often rely upon a Catholic saint or saints for their intercession, such as Jude, Anthony, Christopher and especially Mother Mary and even Michael the Archangel at times. NOTE: Oftentimes the Catholic prayer is directly TO the saint as the Marian prayer, the Memorare, is directly to Mary the mother of Jesus!

Another contrast is, the Holy Spirit intercedes for the saints, while the canonized Catholic saints already in heaven supposedly intercede for people’s needs:

And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God’s will. (Rom 8:27)

So, what is a saint? Here’s more proof. Real saints pray for other saints:

And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints. (Eph 6:18)

The living pray for the living. To call on a deceased person for their intercession is to imply they are omniscient, an attribute that only God has. They would have to be all-knowing to hear various people requesting prayer at the same time. Hence, it is not only unscriptural, but irrational to pray to anyone other than the Father or the Lord Jesus.

A Catholic Saint is Not a Real Saint

Finally, many of the people canonized a saint by Catholicism are not sound in doctrine. In fact, they were clear and definite HERETICS. Two examples are Alphonsus Liquori and Louis De Montfort, apostles of Mary! Both promoted trusting in the fabricated Mary of Catholicism, even for salvation and eternal life. If you know the Biblical message and read their writings you will be shocked they are Catholic saints. To know what is a saint, we only need to go to the Bible. A Catholic saint is not the same as a true Bible-defined saint.

I am a Vatican I Tridentine Catholic

(QUESTION) I read your comments on Purgatory. I am wondering this: if you are truly interested in spreading “Christian Love”, why do you even have such a website? I am a Vatican I Tridentine Catholic. Usually I don’t say whether I am Catholic or Protestant, because I really believe that if we are Christians, we ought to focus on the things we agree on, such as the divinity of Christ, that He died for us and rose again, that He will come again. I don’t think God is going to care about minor doctrinal differences. You identify yourself as a former Catholic; did that somehow mean you were less of a Christian when you were Catholic? This world is already hostile enough towards anyone who is wiling to stand up for Christ. Why is a member of the “body” of Christ using such poorly disguised hostility? I will pray for you. Please remember that the Devil can quote scripture. Even the demons in hell believe in Christ, and they tremble… God Bless You

(BIBLE ANSWER) Greetings in Jesus’ name. True Christian love is based on God’s truth. It is not loving to not help people with their greatest need – eternal life. Your SOUL is your most valuable possession. For me to try to help you with that need, as a former Roman Catholic, is not wrong. Let me ask you, What is a Christian? Jesus said:

Not everyone who says to me, “Lord, Lord,” will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. (Mat 7:21)

You will NEVER be comfortable with what you think the will of God is unless you read it for yourself in the New Testament. Man’s focus for eternal life must be on JESUS. He is “the way” to God, John 14:6 (not Mary as the Fatima apparitions say). JESUS is “our life, sweetness and hope,” Col. 3:4; Mt. 11:29; 1 Tim. 1:1 (not Mary as the Rosary would declares). See https://www.evangelicaloutreach.org/rosary.htm These are very serious errors. They are not “minor doctrinal differences.”

When I was a Roman Catholic, I did NOT have eternal life, because I didn’t have Jesus the way I Biblically needed to as my personal boss, king, Lord and Savior. I now have his yoke on me to follow and obey him. [I’m trusting in JESUS 100% for salvation and Mary 0%.] QUESTION: Do you LOVE JESUS first as real Christians do, even more than your own natural family? Please read it for yourself (Mt. 10:34-38). In the past I was wrongly trusting in being a Catholic, Mary and the sacraments, as I was taught. I didn’t realize what I needed to know until I read the Bible for myself. NOTE: Jesus has the words of eternal life (John 6:68). To learn what he says, read his wonderful teachings for yourself.

Please know I am your friend. I’m NOT your enemy. If I hated you I would say nothing and let you continue in darkness. I want to help you. You are right that the devil can quote Scripture, but so do the Lord’s disciples, which includes me. Please read 1 Cor. 6:9-11 and Luke 18:9-14. Have you seen my video as a former Roman Catholic? Please check it out. (There is NO Purgatory.) GOD BLESS YOU.

Bible Answer: You Will Lose Your Salvation | Once Saved Always Saved | Baptist Doctrine

(BIBLE QUESTION) I have attended a Baptist Church since 200_….I have never believed OSAS [once saved always saved] and my friends at church know this. I also had mentioned this to the incoming pastor years ago but he must not remember. I have taught a women’s bible class at the church for several years. Now he is asking me about what I teach my class and to make sure I do not go against their belief, OSAS or I will not be able to continue teaching at their church. I have read a report from the Baptist Convention, dated June 4th, 2000 stating any Baptist has the right to their own statement of faith. I am confused about this whole matter. I would like to continue attending this church, they are a bible teaching church and the only objection I have is the OSAS that most of them believe. I also sing in the choir and attend other functions. How do I approach this situation. Looking forward to your input, regards

(BIBLE ANSWER) Greetings in Jesus’ name. You are being “tested.” [The teaching of eternal security is a test.] Jesus demands that we love him first, even before our natural family members and life (Mt. 10:37,38 cf. Lk. 14:26,27). Because that so-called “pastor” is not genuine, but instead a savage wolf (though religious), he wants you to teach Baptist doctrine instead of the word of God. A Christian must do God’s will, which includes standing firmly on God’s word and refusing to conform to that counterfeit grace and false gospel. If you are a real Christian, you will lose your salvation by teaching that bogus “gospel” (Gal. 1:8,9). Your relationship with God is much more important than continuing to attend there, even though you are an established and respected member with various friends. NO sin or person is worth going to hell over.

It is also important for you to leave such an environment because you don’t want to share in their “wicked work” (2 John 9-11). NO Christian should donate money or time to help such a false gospel-promoting congregation or ministry. Leave at once, but contact people there whom you know and tell them you fear God and must go by the Bible and are not willing to teach heresy to please the false shepherd. To be in a teaching position is dangerous, if you can’t teach God’s truth and that is what that heretic wants.

Finally, it is I-M-P-O-S-S-I-B-L-E for any congregation to teach the heresy of once saved always saved and be a “bible teaching church.” If it was a Bible teaching church it would teach a conditional security and openly refute once saved always saved. You also would never be opposed and asked to teach spiritual poison, if it was a Bible teaching church. Moreover, the present counterfeit “pastor” would be booted out, if it was a real Bible teaching church. Please read eternal security teachers and why eternal security should be hated. Remember Heb. 3:14. God bless you.

Blasphemy Of The Holy Spirit

blasphemy of the Holy Spirit terrorizes many needlesslyToo many people are needlessly terrified because they think they have committed blasphemy of the Holy Spirit (also known as eternal sin or unforgivable sin or unpardonable sin) when they did not! The same wrongly think they are going to hell with no hope of forgiveness! It seems that is a common thought pattern the lying devil gives certain types of people to torture them emotionally! As with all satanic lies, the remedy is the TRUTH of God’s word. When one understands what the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit really is, he will then be guarded from the devil’s crushing lies about this unique sin. Here are the eternal facts about eternal sin:

And the teachers of the law who came down from Jerusalem said, “He is possessed by Beelzebub! By the prince of demons he is driving out demons.” (Mark 3:22)

That is unforgivable sin. It was committed through words spoken against the Lord Jesus Christ. Those blind leaders of the blind thought Jesus of Nazareth was possessed by a demon and by the power of the devil he was driving out demons! It is shocking how spiritually blind and wrong some religious people can be (even exalted leaders), but such is reality! The Lord Jesus elaborated more and put a label on that most extreme sin, which is in a horrifying class of its own. Still referring to the same teachers of the law, Jesus said:

But whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven; he is guilty of an eternal sin.” He said this because they were saying, “He has an evil spirit.” (Mark 3:29,30)

They committed eternal sin, which is also blasphemy of the Holy Spirit. That is precisely what eternal sin is and nothing else! It is sin against the Holy Spirit because the Lord Jesus performed his miracles by the power of the Holy Spirit. Those simple truths should remove the unfounded terror many have, who wrongly think they have committed unpardonable sin some other way when they didn’t!

Furthermore, since King David got forgiven of adultery and murder, that combination can’t be unforgivable sin! The same can be said of the Prodigal Son’s sins (of wild living, which included immorality with prostitutes), Peter’s thrice denial of Christ, and the unnamed in James 5:19,20 who returned to salvation from a multitude of sins. Furthermore, the long list of sins cited in 1 Cor. 6:9,10 is also forgivable, according to v. 11. Again these verses show us more by revealing what is not blasphemy of the Holy Spirit (or eternal sin or unpardonable sin or unforgivable sin). This is basic truth, but many don’t know such and are being terrorized by the enemy of their SOULS. Do you know Jesus? Do you have saving faith?

Paul Was In Chains

Paul Was In ChainsThe Apostle Paul was the greatest example of Christianity who ever lived. God used him in a most unusual way which continues into the present time, because of the epistles he was inspired by the Holy Spirit to write. Four of those wonderful epistles are known as Prison Epistles, because Paul was in chains and in prison when he wrote them! They are Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians and Philemon. Remember Paul’s condition as he wrote Holy Spirit inspired words to the recipients, informing them they were being prayed for, to rejoice, etc. Especially Philippians was like that and uses the word rejoice repeatedly (Phil. 1:18; 2:17,18; 4:4,10).

Finally, my brothers, rejoice in the Lord! It is no trouble for me to write the same things to you again, and it is a safeguard for you. (Phil 3:1)

Spiritual safeguards are very important for Christians to know about and that is one. If you rejoice in the Lord, neither discouragement, despair nor fear will overwhelm and destroy you spiritually. It is often a battle to stay focused on the eternal things. If it worked for Paul, under his conditions, it will work for us too.

To Paul his uncertain time in chains and in prison, which could lead to his execution, was seemingly meaningless. How could he have such a good attitude in such adverse serious conditions? The key is: Paul looked at things through the eye of eternity and focused in upon the SOUL of man! He looked for the good when trouble hit. That’s the key to remember. Guarding your thoughts and keeping focused on eternity, souls and God will get you through the hardest times. When Paul was in chains, he knew his sufferings because of righteousness sake had a positive impact on others to spread the words of life to the benefit of souls:

Because of my chains, most of the brothers in the Lord have been encouraged to speak the word of God more courageously and fearlessly. (Phil 1:14)

What a man of God Paul was. His example remained outstanding even as he was in chains and carried in his body the marks of Jesus. He wasn’t going to quit, go back or stop serving God regardless the unfair treatment he received as he walked in Christian love refuting and warning others of false teachers and sin, which could negate their salvation. He was determined to cross the finish line in his own personal spiritual race and would buffet his own body to prevent himself from being a castaway (1 Cor. 9:27). He had one goal and it had nothing to do with riches, popularity, avoiding persecution, getting a big ministry or anything temporal. He said:

I only know that in every city the Holy Spirit warns me that prison and hardships are facing me. However, I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me–the task of testifying to the gospel of God’s grace. (Acts 20:23,24)

Paul continued to testify to the gospel of God’s grace, giving out repeated hell warnings that sin would exclude the previously saved from inheriting God’s kingdom:

The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God. (Gal 5:19-21)

Paul was in chains, but faithfully continued to spread God’s truth to others.
