Hands Were Lifted up to the Throne of the LORD

One of the clearest proofs that prayer to God is vital and the deciding factor is found in Exodus 17!prayer The setting is not long after Israel was delivered from over 400 years of cruel and bitter slavery in Egypt. God powerfully delivered all of Israel out of their slavery and displayed himself as a miraculous God greater than the false gods of Egypt. After God tested them with no water, then bitter (undrinkable) water, as they wandered in the desert, to then drink miraculous water, Israel was attacked without provocation! Imagine that! (Such is typical in this life.) This was their first LIFE OR DEATH battle. That was serious stuff. They had NO military training at all for hundreds of years, but now they would have to kill or be killed. Read this carefully:

The Amalekites came and attacked the Israelites at Rephidim. (Exo 17:8)

Moses said to Joshua, “Choose some of our men and go out to fight the Amalekites. Tomorrow I will stand on top of the hill with the staff of God in my hands.” (Exo 17:9)

So Joshua fought the Amalekites as Moses had ordered, and Moses, Aaron and Hur went to the top of the hill. (Exo 17:10)

The Deciding Factor

As long as Moses held up his hands, the Israelites were winning, but whenever he lowered his hands, the Amalekites were winning. (Exo 17:11)

When Moses’ hands grew tired, they took a stone and put it under him and he sat on it. Aaron and Hur held his hands up–one on one side, one on the other–so that his hands remained steady till sunset. (Exo 17:12)

So Joshua overcame the Amalekite army with the sword. (Exo 17:13)

Then the LORD said to Moses, “Write this on a scroll as something to be remembered and make sure that Joshua hears it, because I will completely blot out the memory of Amalek from under heaven.” (Exo 17:14)

Moses built an altar and called it The LORD is my Banner.  (Exo 17:15)

He said, “For hands were lifted up to the throne of the LORD. The LORD will be at war against the Amalekites from generation to generation.” (Exo 17:16)

Observations

  •  Upheld hands in prayer is NOT of Pentecostal origin! It came from the Jews and was also a way for Christians to pray in New Testament times (1 Tim. 2:8). [Calvinistic heretic, John MacArthur, unscripturally opposes upheld hands in prayer!]
  • Joshua would have SURELY LOST if Moses’ hands (a type of prayer to God) were not extended! It was an invisible, NOT visible, battle which manifested in the physical on the battlefield with Joshua overcoming the Amelekites – a must win battle.
  • Jesus was sinless (Heb. 4:15; 2 Cor 5:21; 1 Pet 2:22; 1 John 3:5), had the Holy Spirit without limit (Jn. 3:34) and heard the Father’s voice perfectly (Jn. 14:24; 17:8), yet he PRAYED OFTEN:

But Jesus OFTEN withdrew to lonely places and prayed. (Luke 5:16)

Indirectly, that shows how important prayer was even for the Lord Jesus! IF Jesus needed to pray often, we need to pray much more than often! We are in a spiritual and invisible battle. PRAYER is vital and foundational. Pray, pray and pray more – much more. Pray TO God, not Mary, the saints or angels. Pray like the Bible shows. The more heart-felt prayer the better and don’t give up praying (Lk. 18:1). We are also told to come boldly to the throne of grace so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need (Heb. 4:16).

Objections To The Deity of Christ Answered

  • Prayer was made TO God, not a saint like Abraham, or anyone else! We are to pray only TO God, as instructed here or TO the Lord Jesus (Jn. 14:14; Acts 7:59). To pray to anyone other than God is a form of idolatry and forbidden. God is almighty. He is a very capable refuge, deliverer, fortress, etc. Pray to him as he wants you to. Pray for your own needs and the needs of others.
  • When Moses’ hands grew tired at one point and came down (a type of giving up), Joshua started to lose. Don’t give up praying. The devil wants you to give up. God wants you to keep asking, seeking and knocking (Mt. 7:7).

Righteous or Unrighteous – Which?

Simply stated, you are either righteous or unrighteous in God’s sight. You are either godly and pure hearted with eternal life or ungodly with an impure heart and without eternal life. All through the bible we read of righteous people by name. Furthermore, there are many promises and warnings given to righteous people. The same can be said of the unrighteous. Then we come to a lone but magnified verse, found in the so-called Romans Road To Salvation plan which has shaped people’s theology. It seems to say the exact opposite!king david sinned false teachers That verse has been heard so many times by misinformed people, who have read very little of the Bible, that they actually think it even applies to Christians! That verse is Rom. 3:10:

This Is Why The Roman’s Road Salvation Plan Is Flawed

As it is written: “There is no one righteous, not even one.”

The view that Christians are not righteous beautifully fits the apostate theology which also smears Paul as the worst of sinners, that is, eternal security. So we now have multitudes of professing Christians believing that they themselves are NOT righteous in one breath, then professing Christ is their righteousness in another breath, but see no contradiction! It is a sad day, with glaring contradictions, but as long as it presents salvation security in sin, then it must be okay to them. People love it and will support the wolves teaching such poison to the damnation of SOULS.

The Context

The context of Romans 3:10 explicitly shows much more than most have been taught!

As it is written: “There is no one righteous, not even one; there is no one who understands, no one who seeks God. All have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one. Their throats are open graves; their tongues practice deceit. The poison of vipers is on their lips. Their mouths are full of cursing and bitterness. Their feet are swift to shed blood; ruin and misery mark their ways, and the way of peace they do not know. There is no fear of God before their eyes.” (Rom 3:10-18)

The subjects, who all are not righteous:

  • are without spiritual understanding
  • don’t seek God
  • have turned away
  • became worthless
  • there are none who do good
  • their throats are open graves
  • their tongues practice deceit
  • their words are spiritual poison
  • they are full of cursing and bitterness
  • they are swift to shed blood
  • ruin and misery mark their way
  • the way of peace they do not know
  • there is no fear of God in them

God Sees The Wicked This Way

That is not the description of a Christian, one who follows Jesus (Jn. 10:27) and puts God’s word into practice (Lk. 8:21). Such a true Christian is righteous:

Dear children, do not let anyone lead you astray. He who does what is right is righteous, just as he is righteous. He who does what is sinful is of the devil … (1 John 3:7,8)

There we see the two types of people being either righteous or of the devil. The basic truths of 1 John 3:7,8 need to be pondered until it becomes unshakable in your theology. If you are a Christian, you are righteous. If you are of the majority, you are unrighteous (and of the devil). ONLY the righteous will go to eternal life, while the unrighteous will not inherit God’s kingdom:

Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life. (Mat 25:46)

Righteous David Turned To Evil

But is it once righteous, always righteous? NEVER! Notice what happens when a righteous person backslides, as King David did:

If a righteous man turns from his righteousness and does evil, he will die for it. (Ezek 33:18)

If there were no righteous people, how could a warning like this be found in the bible? It would be irrelevant, but it is very appropriate and desperately needs to be known! Scripture pointedly warns the righteous that a DEATH is awaiting them, if they turn to evil. QUESTION: How did King David “die” when he turned to evil (Ezek. 33:18)? He died, because he turned to evil, but how? It wasn’t physical death, because he continued to live. It was spiritual death, the same thing that happened to Adam and Eve, as God warned in Gen. 2:16,17 and which the devil boldly denied in Gen. 3:4. That is the exact model and example laid before us with the ETERNAL SECURITY TEACHERS and all who deny that about David. They act just like their father, the devil and boldly deny just like he did, that there is spiritual death for the righteous who turn to evil; but as with Adam and Eve that didn’t stop spiritual death from occurring. They still died, as David did, when he turned to evil. That righteous man became spiritually DEAD and LOST, like the prodigal when he backslid (Lk. 15:24).

More Details About King David’s Sin

KNOW THIS: A righteous man can become unrighteous again. A saved man can become lost again. A spiritually alive man can become spiritually dead again. To deny these truths won’t change anything. Not a single thing. They remain fact regardless who likes it or not. To be warned about that is to be guarded. To be deceived about that is to be easy prey, thus reflecting the DANGER of false teachers!

Hatred, Threats, Beatings, Jail and DEATH

Was the early Christian life a peaceful idyllic and placid life in separation from trouble? Not when you consider the waves of persecution they faced! While it is true they were separated, trouble came to them as they obeyed God and lived holy lives.early christian life Also, the trouble that came to the Christians was serious stuff! First century Christian life was not boring due to the hatred, threats, beatings, jail time and DEATH that happened to them and their spiritual family! It was the same even for the women, that is, the females were hated just as bad! Again, the earliest Christians were HATED just for being a Christian! That was life as an early Christian:

Meanwhile, Saul was still breathing out MURDEROUS THREATS against the Lord’s disciples. He went to the high priest (Acts 9:1)

I persecuted the followers of this Way TO THEIR DEATH, arresting both men and women and throwing them into prison, as also the high priest and all the Council can testify. I even obtained letters from them to their brothers in Damascus, and went there to bring these people as prisoners to Jerusalem to be punished. (Acts 22:4,5)

So it wasn’t just Stephen who was persecuted to his death. There were others, who are not specifically mentioned. It says, “I persecuted the followers [PLURAL] of this Way to their DEATH, arresting both men AND WOMEN.”

The Apostles

The Lord’s Apostles were focused in upon in the Book of Acts. Peter was jailed at least 3 different times and Paul shed his blood on 9 different occasions EARLY in his ministry! They paid a great price to rescue others from the fires of hell and to be faithful to Jesus by spreading the gospel. That was their life of self-denial, as Jesus demands:

Then he said to them all: “If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.” (Luke 9:23)

The Christians were dedicated to spreading the word of God, as commissioned. A dark world needs light to guide and that is exactly what God’s eternal word is. Such an act of love and obedience brought persecution and hatred to them. How could that be? How could loving and godly people be hated like that? It’s because the word of God hurts the lost, who want sin more than truth and spiritual life. See John 3:19,20.

Having brought the apostles, they made them appear before the Sanhedrin to be questioned by the high priest. “WE GAVE YOU STRICT ORDERS NOT TO TEACH IN THIS NAME,” he said. “Yet you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching and are determined to make us guilty of this man’s blood.” Peter and the other apostles replied: “We must obey God rather than men! The God of our fathers raised Jesus from the dead–whom you had killed by hanging him on a tree. God exalted him to his own right hand as Prince and Savior that he might give repentance and forgiveness of sins to Israel. We are witnesses of these things, and so is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey him.” When they heard this, they were furious and wanted to put them to death.  (Acts 5:27-33) … His speech persuaded them. They called the apostles in and had them flogged. Then they ordered them not to speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go. The apostles left the Sanhedrin, rejoicing because they had been counted worthy of suffering disgrace for the Name. Day after day, in the temple courts and from house to house, they never stopped teaching and proclaiming the good news that Jesus is the Christ. (Acts 5:40-42)

Their Sermon Was Interrupted To Go To Jail

At an earlier time, Peter and John were both jailed for preaching the truth and while doing that very thing:

The priests and the captain of the temple guard and the Sadducees came up to Peter and John while they were speaking to the people. They were greatly disturbed because the apostles were teaching the people and proclaiming in Jesus the resurrection of the dead. They seized Peter and John, and because it was evening, they PUT THEM IN JAIL until the next day. (Acts 4:1-3)

Then they called them in again and COMMANDED THEM NOT TO SPEAK OR TEACH AT ALL IN THE NAME OF JESUS. But Peter and John replied, “Judge for yourselves whether it is right in God’s sight to obey you rather than God. For we cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard.” After further THREATS they let them go. They could not decide how to punish them, because all the people were praising God for what had happened. (Acts 4:18-21)

It Takes COURAGE To Serve God

No rational and informed person could deny that obedience to God under such adverse conditions requires courage on the part of the righteous. COURAGE, not cowardice, is a glaring characteristic of the saints (Heb. 3:6). They ignored murderous threats, disregarded jail time and continued on as living martyrs suffering as they gave out the life-giving gospel, but that brought on even more persecution:

And of this gospel I was appointed a herald and an apostle and a teacher. That is why I am suffering as I am. Yet I am not ashamed, because I know whom I have believed, and am convinced that he is able to guard what I have entrusted to him for that day. (2 Tim 1:11,12)

That is also why Paul gave this strange gospel preaching invitation to Timothy:

So do not be ashamed to testify about our Lord, or ashamed of me his prisoner. But join with me in suffering for the gospel, by the power of God, (2 Tim 1:8)

You will pay a price to serve God, but that is what people need and what God wants from his children. Are you enduring hardness as a good soldier of Christ Jesus (2 Tim. 2:3)? There is no escaping it. ALL who live godly will be persecuted (2 Tim. 3:12). Remember Paul’s chains (Col. 4:18).

The Christian Battle and Apostasy

The true Christian life back in the days of the Apostle Paul is reflected with various spiritual struggles, totally unlike the struggles of unredeemed man. The following five verses (1 Tim. 1:3-7) show the Christian life as a serious struggle for GOD’S TRUTH and RIGHTEOUS LIVING, with apostasies sometimes occurring. Carefully ponder the context of 1 Tim. 1:3-7, for much is revealed to be remembered!

As I urged you when I went into Macedonia, stay there in Ephesus so that you may command certain men not to teach false doctrines any longer nor to devote themselves to myths and endless genealogies. These promote controversies rather than God’s work–which is by faith. (1 Tim 1:3,4)

* Paul left Timothy behind in Ephesus to go to Macedonia. Timothy remained in Ephesus to “command certain men not to teach false doctrines any longer.” apostatesTimothy opposed what they were doing religiously, that is, he opposed their teachings. Verse 7 shows they were teachers of the law, but in verse 4 they were specifically devoted to religious myths and genealogies. [So called Christianity of our day is also filled with religious myths — which range from Mary being the Queen of Heaven to God not seeing the sins of anyone previously saved to thinking one can advance to become a God like Jesus is!] The myths and genealogies they were devoted to didn’t promote God’s work, but instead controversies. Their religious works weren’t beneficial to the kingdom.

The goal of this command is love, which comes from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith. (1 Tim 1:5)

* Paul’s goal in giving Timothy that command about opposing false teachers was love. Such Christian love came from Paul’s pure heart, good conscience and sincere faith. That is Paul’s concise autobiography about himself, the exact opposite of how the eternal security savage wolves portray Paul, as the worst of sinners!

False Teachers In The Church

Some have wandered away from these and turned to meaningless talk. (1 Tim 1:6)

* Without citing specific names here, as he did another time, Paul refers to plural apostates, who departed from the Christian faith. They once had true salvation because they too, like Paul, had a purified heart, which comes from faith in Jesus Christ (Acts 15:9) and being cleansed by Jesus’ holy blood (2 Pet. 1:9 cf. Rev. 1:5). Those same unnamed plural apostates also previously had a good conscience and a sincere faith! To have a sincere faith is to have a saving faith, the same as Timothy himself had, as well as his mother (Eunice) and grandmother (Lois), 2 Tim. 1:5. All of that changed for those apostates! They were previously saved, but became spiritual casualties (apostates) in our spiritual war for SOULS. They regressed into darkness and spiritual death. They wandered away from God (backslid). Their sanctification was not ongoing (nor guaranteed), as Calvinists want us to believe about the elect! Their pure heart, good conscience and sincere faith wasn’t permanent. Paul was not specific as to how that happened, but it did. Their experience proves God was NOT solely the one responsible to guard, hold and keep them secure when they were saved. If it was left up to God alone, who is almighty and does everything perfectly, they could not have wandered away from salvation.  NOTE: Paul didn’t say they were “never really saved.” He knew they once had a pure heart. We can definitely tell if one is saved or not (1 John 3:10).

Study Other Biblical Text Teachings

Those apostates (1:6,7) turned to meaningless talk. When they were Christians, their talk was meaningful, but their words changed as their heart became impure again. Out of the abundance of the mouth, the heart speaks (Mt. 12:35), even if it is with dangerous false doctrines.

Verse 7 shows they became teachers of the law! This over lapses into the same type of danger shown in the book of Galatians and one which Christians battle today called Hebraic Roots. Paul, a Hebrew of Hebrews (Phil. 3:5), denounced all false gospels, including the ones trying to be justified by the law (Gal. 5:2-4). The truth is, JESUS alone is the Savior and our good works reflect our submissive faith in Jesus.

Shape your theology around such truths as the aforementioned and let go of all dogma (myths) to the contrary for your own sake and the sake of all whom you love.

Examine Yourselves: Are You Still In the Faith

A commonly cited passage about examining yourselves to see if professing Christians are in the Christian faith, is 2 Cor. 13:5. It has consistently been misused in regards to the false convert or tare!
examine yourselves That MISinterpretation of 2 Cor. 13:5 is consistent with the HERETICAL theology of eternal security and once saved always saved, but has nothing to do with the way it was originally used or meant by the recipients. Again, it is error to cite 2 Cor. 13:5 for the false convert – one who was never saved and lacked genuine saving faith. Calvinist John MacArthur has often cited this Scripture in that way, distorting Paul’s godly concern mentioned in that passage for real Christians!

The context of 2 Cor. 13:5 extends back several chapters to chapter 11. Remember, when the books that we now call the Bible were originally written, they lacked chapter and verse divisions. Though 2 Cor. 13:5 is the focus here, the initial concern came from the Corinthian Christians listening to dangerous false teachers and getting deceived!

But I am afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent’s cunning, your minds may somehow be led astray from your sincere and pure devotion to Christ. For if someone comes to you and preaches a Jesus other than the Jesus we preached, or if you receive a different spirit from the one you received, or a different gospel from the one you accepted, you put up with it easily enough.  (2 Cor 11:3,4)

Christians endanger themselves with deadly doctrinal deception by listening to false teachers! Hence, the saints are commanded to keep away from false teachers to prevent doctrinal DECEPTION (Rom. 16:17,18). With all of that in mind, carefully read 2 Cor. 13:5 from three translations:

Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you–unless, of course, you fail the test?  (2 Cor 13:5, NIV)

Test yourselves to see if you are in the faith; examine yourselves! Or do you not recognize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you-unless indeed you fail the test? (2 Cor. 13:5, NASB)

Examine yourselves, to see whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Or do you not realize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?–unless indeed you fail to meet the test! (2 Cor. 13:5, ESV)

Because of listening to false teachers there existed a definite danger that the Corinthians would be deceived and no longer realize that Jesus Christ was in them, making the Christians the temples of God. According to 2 Cor. 11:3,4, false teachers were preaching “another Jesus,” that is, a FALSE and mythical Jesus Christ, not the real one of the bible, who is capable of simultaneously residing in many Christians (Col. 1:27), suggesting the omnipresence of Jesus Christ. That unique attribute alone makes the Jehovah’s Witness belief that Jesus is Michael the archangel fallacious.

When Paul wrote, “Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith” it was a doctrinal test about Jesus being in Christians! Such has nothing to do with initial salvation or a false conversion, and therefore, the common interpretation of 2 Cor. 11:5 has been terribly distorted, denying an ever-present danger for Christians through false teachings! They were to examine themselves doctrinally to see if they were still in the faith unlike the ones lethally deceived doctrinally by Hymenaeus and Philetus and had their saving faith destroyed (2 Tim. 2:17,18). So 2 Cor. 13:5 has nothing to do with initial salvation or false converts. Remember that. It refers to Christians evaluating themselves (not someone else) to see if they themselves are still in the Christian faith or not (becoming an apostate) over a simple doctrinal test about Jesus!

Remember also that Calvinists think election is secret, meaning no one can really know if another is saved or not! That is blatant error (1 John 3:10; 2:3,4) and protects the demonic notion that there are two types of adulterers, two types of drunks, two types of thieves, etc. — one being saved and the other never saved even though both types of adulterers, drunks, thieves, etc. are doing the same detestable things! [Charles Stanley would call such a person that was once saved a carnal Christian!]

Which Type of Wisdom is Yours?

The Bible informs us that there are two types of wisdom, which are opposites! Furthermore, neither form of wisdom is based on academic achievements or intelligence! Instead, both are determined by the heart of man.wisdom Dear reader, which type of wisdom can you identify with? What type of heart do you have? Here are the eternal facts:

Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show it by his good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom. But if you harbor bitter envy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast about it or deny the truth. Such “wisdom” does not come down from heaven but is earthly, unspiritual, of the devil. For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice. But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. Peacemakers who sow in peace raise a harvest of righteousness. (James 3:13-18)

Wisdom That Comes From Heaven

The wisdom which comes from heaven, is associated with the HUMBLE, who are truly wise and understanding. It is shown by their good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom. That wisdom (from the righteously humble) is:

  • pure
  • peace-loving
  • considerate
  • submissive
  • full of mercy
  • full of good fruit
  • impartial
  • sincere

Wisdom Which Is Earthly, Unspiritual and of the Devil

The contrasting wisdom to godly wisdom, comes from bitter envy and selfish ambition. Such leads to disorder and every evil practice! In other words, sin proliferates from that type of earthly, unspiritual and of the devil type of wisdom. Sinful actions beget more sin.

Scripture states: If you harbor bitter envy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast about it or deny the truth. Instead, if that describes you, REPENT, for your heart is not right.

Surprisingly, many in ministry today are like that. They are motivated by selfish ambition and envy of others also in ministry. Their work is not as pure as it may appear to man!

Selfish Ambition

The subject of selfish ambition surfaces at other times in scripture and it is always shown to be a serious problem. In the following passage, it is shown to be of the sinful nature, as is envy:

The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God. (Gal 5:19-21)

Even in Paul’s Day!

Even in Paul’s day there were preachers who taught Christ in such a way as to cause trouble for the godly! Case in point was Paul while he was in chains for serving God! Clearly, not all preachers declaring Jesus Christ are benefitting the kingdom of God or doing such out of a right motive:

The former preach Christ out of selfish ambition, not sincerely, supposing that they can stir up trouble for me while I am in chains. (Phil 1:17)

They weren’t preaching Christ to win souls, but to cause trouble for Paul — someone those preachers secretly wanted to hurt! WHY? There were preaching Christ out of envy and rivalry (Phil 1:15)! That was their wisdom!

The MOTIVES of us all are open before God and will be part of our judgment before God! Perhaps those unqualified preachers felt they were Paul’s rival. Folks, we must be guarded against selfish ambition and envy too, for it is associated with the wrong type of “wisdom,” a spiritually destructive wisdom:

Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. (Phil 2:3)

Operate out of humility, not selfish ambition.

Who was Apollos?

Who was Apollos? Apollos was an influential, learned and eloquent itinerant Christian teacher and debater in first century Christianity. He traveled around and promoted the kingdom of God by his fervent scriptural teachings. One such example is what happened at Achaia:

When Apollos wanted to go to Achaia, the brothers encouraged him and wrote to the disciples there to welcome him. On arriving, he was a great help to those who by grace had believed.who was apollos For he vigorously refuted the Jews in public debate, proving from the Scriptures that Jesus was the Christ. (Acts 18:27,28)

NOTE: He was a great help to those who had already believed on Jesus and had salvation! He did that through public debate, that is, reasoning in opposition from the scriptures publicly so all could benefit. He focused on Jesus being the Christ, something the Jews wrongly rejected.

Debating

Debating was a first-century practice, which even the sinless Lord Jesus did at times (Mk. 12:28)! Such debating is beneficial for souls, if the subject matter is adequately represented by the person presenting the Christian arguments. In Apollos’ case, his debate in Achaia was of great help!

We also get a glimpse of Apollos’ great influence at Corinth. Some had Apollos as their favorite preacher, some Paul and others had Peter (Cephas):

My brothers, some from Chloe’s household have informed me that there are quarrels among you. What I mean is this: One of you says, “I follow Paul”; another, “I follow Apollos”; another, “I follow Cephas”; still another, “I follow Christ.” Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Were you baptized into the name of Paul? (1 Cor 1:11-13)

Paul combated such divisions with this:

What, after all, is Apollos? And what is Paul? Only servants, through whom you came to believe–as the Lord has assigned to each his task. I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God made it grow. (1 Cor 3:5,6)

At Ephesus, Apollos went into the synagogue, spoke boldly and encountered Priscilla and Aquila:

Meanwhile a Jew named Apollos, a native of Alexandria, came to Ephesus. He was a learned man, with a thorough knowledge of the Scriptures. He had been instructed in the way of the Lord, and he spoke with great fervor and taught about Jesus accurately, though he knew only the baptism of John. He began to speak boldly in the synagogue. When Priscilla and Aquila heard him, they invited him to their home and explained to him the way of God more adequately. (Acts 18:24-26)

Life For The Early Christians

Priscilla and Aquila, a godly husband and wife couple, helped Apollos better understand some doctrines. [Priscilla was the female.] Apollos apparently was humble enough to accept the truth from them — showing he wasn’t so proud that he closed his eyes and ears to what they had to say, to his own advantage.

Apollos – a Pagan Name

Imagine what it would be like to grow up with a pagan name! The meaning of a name is very important to many, but have they gone too far? Apollos was a mighty man of God, yet he was named after a pagan god! Apollo was the pagan god of music, healing, light and truth. Apollos’ pagan god name didn’t hold him back or even seem to slow him down from doing great things for God.

Furthermore, his parents must have been pagan when he was named implying he could have been raised by non-Christians like so many of us in our dark hour. To be raised by godly parents is a major advantage, which too few know. Imagine having such as a role model 24/7 to get you grounded in eternal truth from an early age! Use Apollos as an inspiration rather than UNgodly sports heros, who are idols of our day!

The Pagan god of Eternal Security Doctrine

Hermes was another New Testament Christian with a pagan name like Apollos. We read of Hermes here:

Greet Asyncritus, Phlegon, Hermes, Patrobas, Hermas and the brothers with them.  (Rom 16:14)

Back then, this is how they viewed the pagan god Hermes:

When the crowd saw what Paul had done, they shouted in the Lycaonian language, “The gods have come down to us in human form!” Barnabas they called Zeus, and Paul they called Hermes because he was the chief speaker. (Acts 14:11,12)

Remember Apollos. Don’t be held back by your circumstances. Go for first prize (1 Cor. 9:24). We are battling for eternity! Apollos was like that.

The top pencil is carefully balanced on the bottom pencil at a 90% angle. The victim (player) asks a yes or no question and the demon moves the pointer (top pencil)! Some think it is a disembodied spirit moving the pointer, but disembodied spirits do not exist! When a person dies, his spirit goes either to heaven or hell. No one’s spirit roams the earth, a house, a bridge, an area, etc. or answers the Charlie Charlie Challenge. It is DEMONS which are doing all these things and thereby giving the illusion that it was a murdered person from the past or something else! Again, there are no disembodied spirits answering the Charlie Charlie Challenge or haunting cemeteries, etc.!

The Ouija Board Made Easy

The Charlie Charlie Challenge is a new type of easy inexpensive Ouija board, which has been used in witchcraft for divination purposes for a long time. Therefore, neither the Charlie Charlie Challenge nor the Ouija board are just a kid’s game or innocent entertainment! They are SPIRITUAL DANGER! Any involvement in the occult (astrology, palm readers, fortune tellers, etc.) is dangerous. Let there be no question about that. The Bible always condemns the magic arts in the most severe way, even explicitly stating that all who practice the magic arts will be thrown into the lake of fire (Rev. 21:8)!

Charlie Charlie Challenge Permission!

It is said without asking permission to stop playing, the violator will be haunted!

If the pencil lands on “yes,” you can ask the demon any question you want. But if you stop playing without asking, “Charlie, Charlie, can we stop?” the specter will haunt you. [yahoo.com]

In The Name of JESUS

Christians have power over demons! If you are a Christian, with the holy name of JESUS you have power over demons. Furthermore, the Christian’s physical body is the TEMPLE OF GOD:

The seventy-two returned with joy and said, “Lord, even the demons submit to us in your name.” He replied, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you. However, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.” (Luke 10:17-20)

Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? If anyone defiles the temple of God, God will destroy him. For the temple of God is holy, which temple you are. (1 Cor. 3:16,17, NKJV)

Stay Away From The Charlie Charlie Challenge

As with the Ouija board, stay away from the Charlie Charlie Challenge. It can only lead to trouble and harm. It therefore is not innocent! Warn others you love and care about, just like any such involvement with witchcraft. The Charlie Charlie Challenge is bad news for all who play around with it.

Samson and Delilah

The Samson and Delilah story is a very strange and perplexing account, unless one realizes the potentially blinding and lethal effects of loving an evil person (who may appear innocent)! We have all heard that love is blind. Nowhere is that more clear in scripture, than with the biblical account of Samson and Delilah!

Samson Loved Delilah

In Judges 16, we read the full account of Samson and Delilah up to and including Samson’s demise. Verse 4 is a key in understanding the whole crazy relationship:

Some time later, he [Samson] fell in love with a woman in the Valley of Sorek whose name was Delilah. (Judg 16:4)

Samson Was Blinded By His Love For Delilah

Because Samson loved Delilah and she was willing to betray him for money, samson and delilahthe whole scenario between them becomes clear. Samson was blinded by his love for Delilah and she was relentlessly pursuing the money she would get by betraying him into the hands of the Philistines. That explains how Samson could act like an idiot with Delilah endlessly nagging him for the secret of his great physical strength and repeatedly being exposed as unfaithful to him! He loved Delilah and wanted to be with that rattlesnake of a person like a crazy person! He didn’t realize (was blinded to) the harm Delilah was trying to bring on him by telling her the secret. What a mistake! Samson’s love for Delilah was returned a bitter betrayal, making her one of the most evil women in the Bible! In Samson’s case, it cost him his eye sight, freedom and finally his life! [BTW, Samson didn’t commit suicide like some want to believe. He prayed and left it all up to God.]

What The Tempter Won’t Tell You When He Comes

Lessons To Learn From Samson

Especially Christian singles need to be warned that loving the wrong person could be DEADLY, especially spiritually!samson and delilah Remember also what happened to Solomon, the wisest person who ever lived after the Lord Jesus. Solomon could deal with great political power, great wealth and great knowledge while remaining faithful to God, but LOVE brought him down! Solomon’s pagan but loving wives led him into the vilest idolatry and spiritual death. Their love for him was really love from the devil! Solomon’s apostasy began over LOVING idolatrous women (1 Kings 11:1-4). That is similar to Samson and Delilah! Delilah was a money idolater and got her lust fulfilled by betraying Samson. Reader, LOVE CAN BE BLIND — meaning it can block the clear and evident destructive direction such a relationship is leading to, which is clear to observers.

The warmest love from idolaters was certainly not a good exchange for either Samson or Solomon. If we could talk to either Samson or Solomon now, both could give us some additional insights how it happened, what it was like and their deep regrets! How many others over the centuries have clung to their lover all the way to prison, the divorce court, bankruptcy, physical death or even hell? Only God knows. Dear reader, take to heart the potential lethal dangers of the blinding and ensnaring bond of  LOVING the wrong person, which can destroy your life and SOUL. Learn from the Samson and Delilah account!

Open Letter To An OSAS Missionary

Thanks for being honest with the King David acid test question I asked you.eternal security missionary By answering yes to my question about David remaining saved in his adultery and murder, you have stated that you believe one can be both an adulterer and murder and have salvation too! That is consistent with your heretical grace message, and also a demonic lie and a license to sin. God’s word demolishes your “gospel” and perverted “grace” with multiple sin listings, which will exclude sinful people from God’s Paradise kingdom (Eph. 5:5-7; Rev. 21:8; etc.). Your so-called good news is really a snare to souls and has been customized to appease people who want their ears tickled. It is a flesh-exciting security in sin gospel, which is popular in our dark day, but poles apart from the Apostle Paul’s gospel of grace. Directly related to the believer’s security, Paul wrote this to those who had already been saved (1 Cor.1:2,3):

By this gospel you are saved, IF you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain. (1 Cor 15:2)

Joseph Prince Is A Slick Talking HERETIC

Did you notice the condition on man’s part for his continued salvation? A related verse shows the seriousness of what you have been doing as an eternal security once saved always saved missionary. That passage, therefore, is a double blow to you, since it also destroys your version of salvation security too:

But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let him be eternally condemned! As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let him be eternally condemned! (Gal 1:8,9)

Did you notice that Paul stated that he himself would be eternally condemned for preaching a false gospel! That would be impossible if eternal security was true. Clearly, Paul didn’t teach like you. Furthermore, Gal. 1:8,9 condemns the exact thing you and all other like minded teachers have been doing. If you ignore that scriptural warning, without turning away in repentance from your counterfeit gospel, you will surely go to hell, as that passage states. You have actually been an evil doer through your missionary work and your supporters share in the harm you have done! That places you, essentially, on equal spiritual grounds with all the Roman Catholics you have been trying to evangelize over the years. Have you never connected 1 Cor. 15:2 to Gal. 1:8,9 before?

Here Is Clear Proof That Eternal Security Is Another Gospel

Missionary work in itself doesn’t mean one is doing God’s work or teaching correctly. Here is proof:

Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. (Mat 7:15)

Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. (1 John 4:1)

Just traveling to another area, even another country, as a missionary to preach to others could be serving the eternal security missionarydevil, even though you and many church goers may think otherwise! Remember, the Jehovah’s Witnesses and Mormons send out missionaries too with their demonic doctrinal distortions!
Moreover, do not rely on the majority of popular and powerful teachers declaring eternal security. If the majority was right, then with 1.2 billion Roman Catholics throughout the world looking to their fabricated Mary for help, deliverance and salvation, such would be established, but that is VERY FAR from bible truth.

The Most Powerful Book Refuting Eternal Security Ever Written

Again, for your own soul’s sake, you better do some serious repenting before GodNO eternal security book and try to undo all the harm you have done to eternal SOULS over your lifetime through your false teachings! Take this to heart. Your blood will not be on my hands (Ezek. 3:19; 33:8,9 cf. Acts 20:26,27).
