An Enemy In Disguise

There are two types of enemies, though both might want you dead! One type is the obvious and openly hateful person who emanates contempt and ill will for you. The other type of enemy is actually more dangerous than the former. He is the enemy in disguise. He appears to be a trusted friend or even neutral, but that is far from reality. He is a deceiver and hiding his hateful heart.
enemy in disguise
There are also two types of enemies in disguise! One enemy is intent on hurting you physically, financially, socially or some other temporal way. The other type of enemy in disguise has the ability, intentionally or unintentionally, to hurt or destroy you spiritually, as a so-called “friend” or family member might. Since the worst way to hurt a person is spiritually, the worst of the worst kind of enemy in disguise will resemble the devil in that way, one who tempts into sin. He will lead you into sin, and into hell with him, if you are not careful, guarded and stand firm.

Solomon’s Wives Were Enemies in Disguise

A perfect example of the worst type of enemy in disguise is Solomon’s pagan wives, who he loved dearly:

King Solomon, however, loved many foreign women besides Pharaoh’s daughter–Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites, Sidonians and Hittites…. As Solomon grew old, his wives turned his heart after other gods, and his heart was not fully devoted to the LORD his God, as the heart of David his father had been. He followed Ashtoreth the goddess of the Sidonians, and Molech the detestable god of the Ammonites. (1 Ki 11:1,4,5)

Since Solomon was hurt spiritually through idolatry, he was hurt much worst than if they had killed him! Imagine that! The ones he loved, hurt him the worst – in a spiritual way. His heart turned from God through their wicked influence. They didn’t appear to be obvious enemies, but definitely were! Solomon must have looked on them as a type of treasure and harmless, but that is far from reality. The Bible teaches that bad company corrupts good character (1 Cor. 15:33). Solomon’s apostasy, through those he loved, is a prime example of how wicked people (even a family member) can bring a godly person down! Solomon was previously very godly before his heart turned to idolatry! What an important truth, especially for all Christian singles. That is also related to what Jesus said:

A man’s enemies will be the members of his own household. Anyone who loves his father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves his son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me (Mat 10:36,37)

Jesus was speaking of an enemy in disguise, that is, one from a Christian’s own family, which can be very loving just like Solomon’s pagan wives were to him. The Lord Jesus said we must love him (which means obey and please him) more than our blood relatives, to be worthy of him. If not, we are unworthy of Jesus! To be unworthy of Jesus is to be unworthy of eternal life, since Jesus is eternal life. Hence, unlike Solomon who had exceptional wisdom, you must act differently. If your loving spouse, boyfriend, girlfriend, neighbor, co-worker, etc. is ungodly and hurting you spiritually, you must love God first and above him or her, even if it causes a serious strain in your relationship. To do otherwise is to invite spiritual death and damnation in the lake of fire. Don’t risk it. Your relationship with God is most important. Your SOUL is your most valuable possession.

False Teachers are Enemies in Disguise

People who teach falsely regarding an aspect of salvation are VERY DANGEROUS. Such people are false teachers, even though they may be right about many other doctrinal issues. The worst type of false teacher is a trusted and unrecognized false teacher – one in disguise. Though it sounds extreme, a false teacher like that who is popular, is worse than a trusted quack medical doctor, who brings many to an early death! Such a false teacher is a prime example of an enemy in disguise. In fact, a popular false teacher like that is much more dangerous than Solomon’s wives and stumble many more people spiritually. Remember this: The devil, who can come as a angel of light, has doctrines of demons and his servants can appear as ministers of righteousness (2 Cor. 11:15) — all designed to deceive and destroy you. You must be on guard. Jesus said:

I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown. (Rev 3:11)

Don’t let anyone take your crownenemy in disguise or not! You are battling for eternity.

Junior Seau Suicide

Former NFL linebacker Junior Seau was found dead today at the age of 43 by his live in girlfriend. He was shot in the chest from a shotgun and the police suspect suicide! In 2010 he drove his vehicle over a cliff and some think it was a failed suicide attempt, though he claims he fell asleep. If he did commit suicide, then he has joined other former NFL players Ray Easterling and Dave Duerson, who likewise committed suicide.
Junior Seau
I have no interest in sports at all, but Junior Seau was certainly a hero for many, but should he have been? How successful was he apart from his amazing sports abilities? Since the grave is NOT the end, but just the beginning of another facet of our eternal existence, like all suicides he did not escape his unpleasant circumstances, though he did elude them here. The Bible is clear that after death comes the judgment before God (Heb. 9:27)!

Suicides, especially from the well-known, give evil ideas to the impressionable and spiritually uninformed. The truth is, suicide is self-murder and should never be contemplated! Without a doubt, the devil has tempted many with it over the centuries, so we need to resist those suicidal temptations the same way we would any other sin. The Bible has some very stirring things to report about the sin of murder:

… you know that no murderer has eternal life in him. (1 John 3:15)

Rev. 21:8 adds to that by declaring murderers will go to the lake of fire. That is not my judgment, but the clear Biblical message. Suicide is never the way to go, especially in light of eternity. These Biblical facts about suicide need to be known so others will not follow such an example. The truth is, Junior Seau did not end his life in a way which would show he was a moral success. Since the spiritual is infinitely more important than the temporal, then how successful was he really?

Once Saved Always Saved

[BIBLE COMMENT] Hello! my name is ______. I’m 32 years old and live in Georgia. The once saved always saved doctrine never sat right with me! My mind was blown away at the number of SCRIPTURES that refute it. God clearly said in Ezekiel that a RIGHTEOUS man would die [if he turns to do evil] – not a wicked man…. This clearly was a RIGHTEOUS man.

Then my mind was blown again in the New Testament in Luke 12:46: “the lord of that servant will come in a day when he looketh not for him and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers.” That scripture ALONE shows that Jesus was the “Lord of that servant” – implication being that He was once “Lord of that servant” before he turned away. The fact that he was appointed a portion with the UNBELIEVERS shows that he was once saved [but no longer]. Otherwise there would be no distinction and use for the word unbelievers.

Copyrighted.

Once saved always saved is wrong[BIBLE ANSWER] You did a fine job showing two of the fatal flaws in that DOCTRINE OF DEMONS and LICENSE FOR IMMORALITY called once saved always saved. It is also ANOTHER GOSPEL and a COUNTERFEIT GRACE message which has led MANY former Christians to eternal punishment in eternal fire (Mt. 25:41,46). It has broken up homes through adultery, led to untold suicides and even criminal acts. Our society, and especially the professing “church,” would be MUCH better off if ALL such ministries and congregations teaching their salvation security in sin would be permanently shut down. The eternal security teachers are some of the most dangerous people on the planet, yet are respected and supported even by those who have Bibles and profess salvation! Shocking! Beyond that are those who reject eternal security, but still support them and their wicked doctrine indirectly and are consequently sharing in the spiritual harm they are doing! It seems that such are totally out of touch with spiritual reality! Some even faithfully support an open and bold blasphemer of the Lord Jesus – namely Calvinist Mark Driscoll. Even some of the cults don’t tolerate such open evil, but professing eternal security Christians, in our dark and APOSTATE day, do with their ungodly tolerance for sin!

BTW, some of our favorite Scriptures refuting the HERESY of eternal security are: James 5:19,20; Luke 8:13; Gal. 1:8,9; 5:2-4; Rev. 2:10,11; Mt. 10:33 and Eph. 5:5-7. Hell warnings given to Christians and actual examples of people who were saved (such as Judas Iscariot) are also very clear. We also like Rev. 21:8; 1 Cor. 6:9,10; Heb. 3:6,14; 6:4-6; Mt. 10:22; Psa. 125:5 and many others.

We will fight the devil’s first lie to mankind cited in Gen 3:4 – the righteous won’t die spiritually through sin (the essence of once saved always saved) – as long as we live. In doing so, we will be obedient to Jude 3,4. Please keep up the good work speaking out against THE HERESY. God bless you.

The Last Generation

As our world continues to fall apart it is only natural for Christian people to wonder if our generation is the last generation. Especially with the news media magnifying the weird Mayan calendar and its Dec. 21, 2012 date people are needlessly fearful, anticipating its arrival. Last year well-known heretic and false prophet Harold Camping made more false prophecies to his shame and the harm of those who believed him, but Jesus warned there would be many false prophets doing that. There have been scores of false predictions of the end of the world and the return of Christ over the last couple hundred years and they haven’t all come from the Jehovah’s Witnesses or the Latter Day Saints either.

The Last Generation (mp3)

The Real Last Generation

The real last generation will be a horrific time of unique problems unlike have ever occurred on this planet! It will also be CRYSTAL CLEAR as to when it arrives for the Lord Jesus gave the unique details 2,000 years ago:

But in those days, following that distress, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from the sky, and the heavenly bodies will be shaken. At that time men will see the Son of Man coming in clouds with great power and glory. And he will send his angels and gather his elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of the heavens. Now learn this lesson from the fig tree: As soon as its twigs get tender and its leaves come out, you know that summer is near. Even so, when you see these things happening, you know that it is near, right at the door. I tell you the truth, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened. (Mark 13:24-30)

The people who are alive to see the sun darkened, the moon not shining its light, the stars fall from the sky and the heavenly bodies being shaken are of the last generation. Only after that, will the return of Christ occur. It cannot happen and will not happen until those easy to observe cosmic changes take place. Do not be deceived.

The Spiritual Climate of The Last Generation

Much worse than the horrific natural calamities of the last generation is the sinful spiritual climate, which will permeate the entire world. Various Scriptures give the disturbing details, but most significant is Revelation 13. There it becomes apparent that the antichrist will have devoted followers and as they give their allegiance to him they will also worship the devil! At the same time, faithful Christians will be dying rather than take the mark of the beast. Since people from every tribe, people, language and nation will be martyred then (Rev. 7:9), we must conclude the reign of antichrist, during the last generation, will be worldwide. It is even more clear in Rev. 13:7. Hence, there will not be a worldwide revival. There will be a general increase in wickedness and more Christians departing the faith (Mt. 24:9-13; 1 Tim. 4:1; etc.). It is easy to observe how our society is in a downward trend compared to even 20 years ago.

During Jesus’ earthly reign, he taught about the last generation and the Christian life as a whole with these stirring words:

… Night is coming, when no one can work. (John 9:4)

When the antichrist reigns, the night will be here when no Christian can do the Lord’s work as is possible now! With today’s technology alone, not to mention what is down the road, surveillance will be tight. That will lead to this:

He was given power to make war against the saints and to conquer them. And he was given authority over every tribe, people, language and nation. (Rev 13:7)

To overcome the antichrist and the devil then, will mean going to your physical death rather than taking the mark of the beast (Rev. 12:11), but the grave is not the end. It is just the beginning of a brand new exciting phase of our existence in God’s holy presence. It will take heart purity to get there (Mt. 5:8) and only the minority will qualify (Mt. 7:13,14).

Keep Your Lamps Burning

If you are a Christian (spiritual virgin), you personally know about the intense and subtle spiritual battles involved in the Christian race, including keeping your lamp burning. It can be a hard and lonely road in this sin-filled and truth-rejecting world. Hence, many grow weary and give up sowing to please the Spirit to reap eternal life (Gal. 6:8,9). They, unfortunately, backslide as a dog returns to its vomit (2 Pet. 2:20-22). To get the crown of life in the end and inherit eternal life as an overcomer, you must be different and endure to the end (Mt. 10:22; Rev. 2:10,11). If you don’t endure, all the persecutions and other sufferings you have gone through as a Christian will be in vain! You will still go to hell. There is no once saved always saved! The Lord Jesus told his disciples about their need to be ready for service and keep your lamps burning:
burning lamp

Be dressed ready for service and keep your lamps burning (Luke 12:35)

Especially when compared to the Parable of the Ten Virgins (Mt. 25:1-13) it is apparent that final salvation is the issue in that passage and nothing less! Jesus wants us to know the real formula for spiritual success, though it is often rejected, denied and smeared in these end times. It is sad how many people with Bibles just accept what the popular teachers say even though it clearly contradicts what Jesus taught about keeping your own lamp burning.

Keeping Your Lamp Burning Is A Christian Responsibility

As can be shown in dozens of Scriptures, under grace, Christians have free will and human responsibility. It is up to the individual Christian, with the help of God as we seek him, to continue on and live holy. It is NOT God’s responsibility to keep our lamps burning, for if it was then no one would ever have their spiritual lamp go out as happened in 50% of the cases in the Parable of the Ten Virgins! If it was left solely up to God, no Christian would ever get deceived doctrinally, backslide or disobey in any way! Since such is not the case, it should be apparent that there definitely is free will and human responsibility under grace for final salvation, even though fiercely opposed by Calvinists and the once saved always saved proponents in general.

Keep Your Lamps Burning and Have Extra Oil

The reason the five wise virgins were able to keep their lamps burning when the five foolish virgins couldn’t was the extra oil they brought for themselves. They knew it was their own responsibility to bring oil for themselves to keep their lamps burning. They were thinking ahead and prepared for a late coming of Christ. Apparently, the five foolish virgins, without the extra oil, didn’t know that or didn’t think they would ever need it in the future. That was their fatal mistake!

Virgins, Don’t Run Out Of Oil

Another truth connected with Lk. 12:35 is that our oil lamps can be extinguished. It isn’t guaranteed that they will continue to burn and especially that they will burn brighter over time! Our sanctification is NOT guaranteed. Just the opposite can occur. Again, our lamps can run out of oil and stop burning. That’s why Jesus told his own disciples, keep your lamps burning. He wanted them to know his will and the possibility of this danger involved in following him. Hence, be dressed ready for service and keep your lamps burning is for all Christians.

Temptation Of Money

Recently in SW Pennsylvania, we were surprised by the murder and theft of 2.3 million dollars in an armored car robbery by one of the guards, Kenneth Konias, Jr. Konias murdered his partner (Michael Haines) and left with the cash! (Less than 2 months later the FBI found him in Florida and arrested him!) Kenneth Konias fell prey to covetousness. For him, the temptation of money, even through illegal and immoral ways, didn’t stand in his way to get it. He is like many others of the past, who were willing to sin to get it!
Kenneth Konias Jr.
There are various examples and corresponding spiritual lessons to be learned in the Bible of people, who went after money and/or related material things in their ungodly desires to get rich through disobedience to God. Achan was one and his money temptation and sin occurred in the days of Joshua:

Achan replied, “It is true! I have sinned against the LORD, the God of Israel. This is what I have done: When I saw in the plunder a beautiful robe from Babylonia, two hundred shekels of silver and a wedge of gold weighing fifty shekels, I coveted them and took them. They are hidden in the ground inside my tent, with the silver underneath.” (Josh 7:20,21)

The infamous Judas Iscariot, was once a true disciple of the Lord Jesus like the other Twelve (Mt. 10:1-4), but afterwards became a thief (Jn. 12:6). In his covetousness Judas yet wanted more even to the extreme of betraying the Lord Jesus (God in the flesh):

Then one of the Twelve–the one called Judas Iscariot–went to the chief priests and asked, “What are you willing to give me if I hand him over to you?” So they counted out for him thirty silver coins. (Mat 26:14,15)

Shockingly, Judas settled for the small sum of 30 pieces of silver in his ungodly thirst for more! Unlike Balaam, Judas Iscariot (who was a preacher) never tried distorting God’s truth for the sake of money. Balaam on the other hand toyed with the money offered by Balak (an enemy of Israel) and though he couldn’t curse Israel, he taught Balak how God would oppose them through sexual sin. Jude likened Balaam to the grace changers (eternal security teachers) of our day (Jude 4 cf. Jude 11), who distort the Scriptural message of grace into a license to sin.

The temptation for money is strong, but won’t always lead to one’s downfall. Solomon’s apostasy proves this. He was an example of a very wealthy man who wasn’t adversely changed by his money or power. His downfall came in his latter years and through the idolatry his pagan wives led him into. He held fast to them in love rather than God. There is NO Scriptural proof to show Solomon ever returned to God and salvation. The devil has many alluring temptations and they are all designed to destroy us. Let’s all learn a good lesson about covetousness, sexual sin, idolatry and other types of sin unto death as listed in 1 Cor. 6:9,10; Eph. 5:5-7 and Rev. 21:8. This life is very short and NO SIN IS WORTH GOING TO ETERNAL PUNISHMENT IN ETERNAL FIRE OVER (Mt. 25:41,45 cf. Mk. 9:43-48)! Sin never goes unnoticed by the holy God!

Dan Corner Debates False Teacher Dave Hunt

Dan Corner Exposed a False Teacher

Before Dave Hunt started his ministry, he had a career as a CPA- management consultant and also managed several corporations. His religious beliefs have been influenced by Plymouth Brethren. Now Hunt is a popular speaker, radio commentator and author. Hunt has written many books on the cults and other religions, theology and prophecy, as well as analyses of his opinion on Catholicism, Islam, Mormonism and Calvinism. Regretfully, his books have sold over 4 million copies and have been translated into at least 50 languages. Hunt is also a frequent radio and TV talk-show guest (as well as co-hosting his own radio show on 300 stations), and has engaged in many debates with others he believes to be a false teacher. Dave Hunt’s organization has a mailing list of more than 25,000.
Dave Hunt Debate
Though Dave Hunt is considered by many religious people to be a chief Christian apologist, his false teaching about eternal security must be refuted for the sake of souls. It destroys the good done with his sound teachings. He labels himself a Berean yet remains willfully ignorant of the Scriptures on the issue of most importance to Christianity that is, the gospel and salvation itself.

Dave Hunt has endeavored to distance himself from Calvinism in his book, What Love Is This? while embracing the fifth point of Calvinism known as eternal security. Hunt’s position is that one can believe in eternal security but reject Calvinistic teaching, which is of course impossible. In reality, Dave Hunt is a one point Calvinist and therefore a false teacher.

Dan Corner Debates Dave Hunt

Seemingly ever ready, willing and able to debate about various religious topics, Dave Hunt has tried to avoid debating Dan Corner in a lengthy, fair, equally-timed exchange of theology regarding eternal security. However, a mini radio debate on eternal security with a host who was biased toward Dave Hunt’s Calvinistic position did occur (to Hunt’s regret). Some of the unbiblical points false teacher Dave Hunt adheres to are as follows:

–Dave Hunt promotes a “license for immorality” by saying the unnamed, sexually immoral man of 1 Cor. 5 was saved: “The man who had ‘his father’s wife’–a terrible sin–didn’t lose his salvation thereby …” (The Berean Call, July 1996, p. 3).

–Hunt teaches the same as the Calvinists regarding the sin unto death as he said, “Some of you are weak and sickly and some of you sleep. Some of you died because God just brought judgment upon you for the way you have conducted yourselves … there are some sins that are so heinous … and God takes them home for that.” (Dave Hunt Skull and Crossbones Award containing audio recording)

–In the Berean Call January 2007, page 5 Hunt wrote, “Paul introduces the idea [of the carnal Christian], beginning with himself” (Rom. 7:14).

–Sadly Hunt also taught, “Paul wrote most of his epistles to correct error in the church. But he doesn’t say that even the most carnal Corinthians are not saved.” (The Berean Call, January 2007, p. 5.)

–With regard to the false teaching that a Christian shall be saved so as by fire, Hunt has fabricated more as a false teacher by stating, “He even declares that a person could have been so carnal that all of his works will be burned up–yet ‘he himself shall be saved'” (1 Cor. 3:15). (Ibid.)

These unsound concepts must be debated and refuted for the sake of Christians who could be deceived by his heretic views.

Christian Apologist and Debater Dan Corner

Dan Corner is author of The Believer’s Conditional Security, the most comprehensive refutation to eternal security that has ever been written. Many of Dave Hunt’s false teachings are exposed in this massive volume where Dan Corner expounds on the Scriptures. Also included is an Open Letter from Dan Corner to Dave Hunt, which is referenced below for the reader’s convenience.

Dan Corner is passionate in his defense of the true Christian gospel of conditional security and no eternal security. His evangelistic expertise along with his pastoral experience have equipped him to contend for the faith against all manner of false teachings.

Dave Hunt is a dangerous false teacher whom Dan Corner would again like to debate about eternal security for two hours in a gentlemanly, equally timed exchange of ideas. Dan Corner believes that Dave Hunt is not a true Berean because he teaches and defends the lie of once saved always saved.

For the sake of precious eternal souls who could be deceived by the unscriptural teachings of Dave Hunt, Dan Corner will continue to contend for the faith by exposing and refuting the twisted distortions of eternal security false teacher Dave Hunt and others.

Do Not Commit Adultery

According to the Bible there are three ways to commit adultery! Since adultery will destroy one’s possession of eternal life and relationship with God, we Christians all need to know what the various ways are so we can keep ourselves pure and spiritually alive. We also need to be informed so we can tell others.

Adultery Through Physical Union

The most commonly known form of adultery is sexual union with at least one partner being married, in God’s eyes. An example of that is what King David fell into and that resulted with the loss of his salvation. (If the male and female are both single in God’s eyes, then the sin is sexual immorality, which will also cause one to not inherit God’s kingdom, unless he afterwards repents and comes to Jesus for eternal life, that is, on his terms, 1 Cor. 6:9-11; Eph. 5:5-7; Rev. 21:8.)

Mental Adultery – Lust

The other two ways to commit adultery were first mentioned by the Lord Jesus! The first one he mentioned was through lust:

But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart. If your right eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell. (Mat 5:28,29)

What a surprise for those who don’t read the Bible. Lusting in the heart is adultery in God’s sight. This shows how spiritually dangerous it is to watch the so-called adult movies or anything which would generate lust! To avoid every kind of evil (1 Thess. 5:22), includes not looking at such or hearing secular music, etc. which would begat lust. Christians are in a spiritual battle with eternity at stake. We must be very careful. That type of sin will drag you to hell, according to Jesus!

Adultery Through Divorce

Adultery Lust DivorceThe third way to commit this sin was also first mentioned by the Lord Jesus! This last type of adultery is rampant in our hour, even among professing Christians who regularly go to church. Jesus taught:

It has been said, “Anyone who divorces his wife must give her a certificate of divorce.” But I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for marital unfaithfulness, causes her to become an adulteress, and anyone who marries the divorced woman commits adultery. (Mat 5:31,32)

Without question, an illegitimate divorce and subsequent so-called “marriage” leads to adultery! This is an issue that is so taboo and widespread, especially in church circles, that even the boldest holiness preachers refrain in cowardice to teach on it! Consequently, not only do the people in that type of adultery remain adulterers in God’s eyes, but the young people looking for a life’s partner are more open to get ensnared by such adultery. Again, Christian singles need to know the truth about this so they can be guarded. SOULS remain in jeopardy because too many so-called spiritual leaders are not true spiritual leaders in God’s eyes. They apparently fear man more than God or are themselves deceived about the various ways to commit this sin.

Get Forgiven For Adultery

There is hope for the backslider, but he must repent. Don’t take a chance with any type of sexual sin and don’t deceive yourself about its seriousness. Your SOUL is your most valuable possession and that type of sin will drag all sexually immoral people to the lake of fire unless they repent, according to Scripture. With the various ways to commit adultery is it any wonder Jesus said it was a wicked and adulterous generation (Mat 12:39)?

Impossible To Renew Them Again Unto Repentance

[Bible Question] I agree that salvation can be lost, but to be saved a second time is an impossibility according to Heb. 6. There is only one salvation and if that salvation is lost it cannot be restored.

Heb 6:4 For it is impossible, in the case of those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, and have shared in the Holy Spirit, Heb 6:5 and have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the age to come, Heb 6:6 and then have fallen away, to restore them again to repentance, since they are crucifying once again the Son of God to their own harm and holding him up to contempt.

For such a person who has lost his salvation to be born again a second time, Jesus would have to die for him again, which is the same idea as Moses having to go up the mountain a second time to restore the written law on new tablets of stone.
renew to repentance
[Bible Answer] The Hebrews 6:4-6 and Heb. 10:26,27 passages both refer to the unforgivable sin only, which is confirmed by the historical context of the book of Hebrews and comparing Scripture with Scripture. Those Hebrew Christians were under heavy pressure to return to the synagogues, and for them to do that they would have to sin in that most extreme way – the “unforgivable sin”! Hence, such people (the ones who committed eternal sin) couldn’t be renewed again unto repentance (Heb. 6:6) and no sacrifice for sin was left by their deliberate sin (Heb. 10:26,27). Their deliberate sin was much different than the prodigal’s deliberate sin, however! His deliberate sin brought him to his spiritual death, but was afterwards forgiven through repentance. (He was renewed again unto repentance unlike the ones referred to in Heb. 6:4-6.) He became “alive again” (got saved again), according to Luke 15:24. Other Scriptures similarly show one can lose his salvation and be saved again (James 5:19,20; Rom. 11:19-23).

The unforgivable sin is not sexual sin, drunkenness, murder, theft, etc. It is saying Jesus had a demon and by the power of the devil he performed his miracles (Mk. 3:22-30). All other sins can be forgiven, but not eternal sin. Such blasphemy of the Holy Spirit is also an insult to the Spirit of grace (the Holy Spirit). That is why the prodigal, the ones referred to in James 5:19,20 and Rom. 11:19-23 could be saved again!

BTW, to teach one can’t get salvation back is also to teach a license for immorality! Why? Because you are saying indirectly King David (when in adultery and murder) didn’t lose his salvation! King David was a prime example of a righteous man who turned to evil and died spiritually (Ezek. 18:24; 33:18; etc.) as did the prodigal son (Lk. 15:24). That is another way of saying he lost his salvation, as did Adam and Eve, just like God warned would occur if they sinned by eating the forbidden fruit (Gen. 2:17). Such also occurs under New Testament grace (1 Cor. 6:9,10; Rev. 21:8; Mt. 10:33; etc.). Don’t be deceived by the many false teachers in our day who downplay sin in various ways. Some who reject eternal security also think it takes habitual acts of murder, adultery, theft, child molestations, etc. to lose salvation and that occasional acts can’t do that. They are heretics and speaking for the devil as they cause people to stumble, just like the eternal security teachers and Calvinists! It takes HEART PURITY (holiness) to enter God’s kingdom after death (Mt. 5:8; Rev. 21:27; etc.). Without holiness you can NOT have eternal life. Again, don’t be deceived.

The Sin of Omission

To the surprise of many, the Bible teaches there are different types and degrees of sins. They range from a sin of omission to commission, then to sins which lead to death and sins which don’t lead to death (1 John 5:16,17). The sin of omission is defined as:
sin of omission

Anyone, then, who knows the good he ought to do and doesn’t do it, sins. (James 4:17)

The sin of omission can be much more serious than people tend to think, according to Scripture! For example, John taught a child of the devil is identified by sins of omission:

This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not a child of God; nor is anyone who does not love his brother. (1 John 3:10)

In our day, which is still suffering under the poisonous influence of eternal security, the heretics are telling us that an adulterer, drunk, slanderer, etc. might be Christian! What a shock it must be to some to know one doesn’t have to go to that extreme to be shown void of eternal life. John stated that either one of those sins of omission identifies a person as a child of the devil, according to first century Christian doctrine!

Other Scriptures also show the negative significance of the sin of omission. King Saul was rejected as king, in part, because he didn’t do what he should have! What was his sin? Saul was to totally destroy the Amalekites, but took the king prisoner and spared the best of the sheep and cattle (1 Sam. 15).

In Luke 18:9-14, it was the highly religious one who didn’t sincerely and humbly pray, “God have mercy on me a sinner,” who remained in his sins and lost! What he didn’t do was caused by his pride and was spiritually disastrous for him.

In Mt. 25:31-46 we learn that it will be those who didn’t do what the righteous did there, who go to everlasting punishment. NOTE: Don’t be deceived – one can feed the poor, clothe the naked and still go to hell! You must have heart purity to see God (Mt. 5:8).

Finally, if you don’t forgive others who sin against you, you will not be forgiven (Mt. 6:14,15). Unforgiveness can nullify one’s salvation (Mt. 18:34,35) Again, these sins of omission can be lethal. Guard your heart. Eternal life is for the overcomers.
