To Believe In The Lord Jesus vs WORTHLESS Counterfeits

Over the centuries certain English words have changed their meanings. Gay is a prime example of this and, in our day, it is now related to homosexuality! When such changes occur with key Biblical terms, especially if they are related to salvation, it becomes of the utmost importance to know what words or phrases changed and how we should understand them now. It could make a salvation difference — a difference between God’s Paradise kingdom (Rev. 2:7 cf. 21:4) and eternal punishment (Mt. 25:46)!

Believe In The Lord Jesus

The perfect salvation question was asked by the Philippian jailer — What must I do to be saved (Acts 16:30)? believe in the lord JesusThe answer to his question is vital to understand for salvation’s sake, but in our day this has been distorted and neutralized into a mere, easy and powerless, mental assent (consenting to the historical facts about Messiah). Paul and Silas answered:

Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved. (Acts 16:31)

What did believe in the Lord Jesus mean back in first century Christianity? That is the question and its answer is vital, not what a secular dictionary says about the meaning of believe today. By comparing scripture related to salvation with that scripture (Acts 16:31), we will find the original answer and vital truth.

Believe In The Lord Jesus = Acts 20:21

Just as 2+2 = 5-1, to believe in the Lord Jesus also = Acts 20:21. In Acts 20:21, Paul answered:

I have declared to both Jews and Greeks that they must turn to God in repentance and have faith in our Lord Jesus.

So sometime after Acts 16:31, Paul equated his answer to the Philippian jailer to his statement in Acts 20:21 — turn to God in repentance and have faith in our Lord Jesus. That was Paul’s answer to our present day enigma. Problem solved. We now know what Paul meant by believe in the Lord Jesus. To believe in the Lord Jesus, therefore, includes:

  • repentance (turning from evil ways)
  • faith (trust) in the Lord Jesus

Repentance, therefore, is a necessity for initial salvation (getting born again). By comparing scripture with scripture, repentance is shown to be turn from evil ways (Mt. 12:41 cf. Jonah 3:10), though there is not a hint of repentance by just reading Acts 16:31. Repentance, therefore, is included in the meaning of believe on Jesus. It was originally understood that way! That is how the jailer took it and how Paul and Silas meant it to be understood.

Furthermore, the focus is on the Lord Jesus. He is the Savior. He is our hope. It was his blood that was shed for us. Our faith must be in JESUS and not another, including Mary too. That focus on Jesus too is included in believe in the Lord Jesus. It is now much more clear as to the original meaning of Acts 16:31, but it even becomes more clear with 1 Thess. 1:9!

1 Thess 1:9 = Believe in the Lord Jesus

Referring back to the conversion of the Thessalonians, Paul wrote:

For they themselves report what kind of reception you gave us. They tell how you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God (1 Thess. 1:9)

Compare the above scriptures, we now know that believe in the Lord Jesus (Acts 16:31) = turn to God in repentance and have faith in our Lord Jesus (Acts 20:21) = turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God (1 Thess. 1:9). That is just like this mathematical equation, 2+2 = 5-1 = 4.

Again, repentance is mentioned, but this time with the words, turned to God from idols. Then the faith in the Lord Jesus of Acts 20:21 is described in 1 Thess 1:9 as, serve the living and true God. It takes submissive faith to follow JESUS, here and now, to have the one and only salvation offered through Jesus Christ. Mental assent to the historical facts of Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection is a DEADLY DISTORTION. That is not meeting the conditions mentioned in Acts 20:21 and 1 Thess. 1:9. The so-called Free Grace teaching of our day is demonic. To have Lord JESUS as your Savior and eternal life, you must turn away from your idols (sins) and have a faith in JESUS (as the sole object of your faith) that will follow and obey God. See also Heb. 5:9; 1 John 2:3,4; 1 Cor. 6:9,10; etc. In light of these words of life, do you really believe in the Lord Jesus as it was understood in Acts 16:31?

Gal. 5:24 = Believe in the Lord Jesus

Believe in the Lord Jesus is even referred to here:

Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires. (Gal 5:24)

As 2+2 = 5-1 = 4 = 3+1, how to belong to Christ Jesus also = believe in the Lord Jesus, but to belong to Christ Jesus you must crucify the sinful nature (flesh) with its passion and desires. That is another way of referring to repentance, which coincides with Acts 20:21 and 1 Thess. 1:9.

The POWERLESS and WORTHLESS Counterfeits

Anything other than the proper scriptural understanding of believe in the Lord Jesus will not bring about the radical spiritual transformation in a person’s life. People with such a false profession merely have empty words. In contrast, if acted upon, the truth will set one free from his sin addictions, as occurs at the real point of being born again (John 3:3-7). Such powerless gospels in our day are called:

  • free grace
  • easy believism
  • oppose Lordship salvation
  • believe babies are born again at infant baptism (as in Catholicism and the Lutheran church)
  • etc.

In Conclusion

By comparing scripture with scripture, we can ascertain what believe in the Lord Jesus meant nearly 2,000 years ago when preached by the Lord’s followers – one that will give needed results.

IF All I Had Was A KJV

[Bible Comment] Thanks, for being brave enough to talk about KJV onlyism.  I have spoken about it openly for 42 years. kjv only I would have had a horrible time coming to know the Lord –IF all I had was a KJV….. Jesus worked with me through the _____ Bible phase of my early walk. I got a few things wrong because of it’s paraphrase — but- NOTHING like I would have misunderstood through KJV…. Praying for you!

[Bible Answer] Thanks for the encouragement. To stand against the kjv propaganda in our day is to invite a bunch of aggressive, divisive and grossly misinformed professing Christians to unjustly insult and attack, but for the sake of TRUTH it has to be done. The kjv only people amaze me! They say a 10 year
old can understand the kjv, yet kjv onlyites can’t, but are unable to
recognize it and profess they canKjv onlyism will hinder and deceive
people about the message of the Bible, which is MOST VITAL to know. It is
very sad, but many remain in bondage to this church tradition and its
archaic incomprehensible kjv words, which needs to be trashed for the sake
of comprehension. It is great to know you are free from such.

[Can you relate to this verse, which all Christians can?

“But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves to God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life.” (Rom 6:22)]

GOD BLESS YOU,  (Heb. 3:14)]

American Preachers And Pastors Are Unusual In Their Teachings

[Bible Question]  My name is ______________. Before asking my question, I would love to give a self-background to clarify who I am. I came in America seven years ago from Tanzania, East Africa, and I now live in ___________. Born in a Christian family, I became a Christian at age twelve after my heart dedication, accepting JESUS CHRIST as my Savior and my LORD, and was baptized 2005…This year, I started to listen to American preachers and pastors and have noticed something unusual about their teachings. It seems as if they tend to influence a lot what they call *”Internal Security” [eternal security]. In other words, that once you’re saved, you cannot lose your salvation. Truly, this kind explanation, I had never experienced it until this year, here in America. However, I am one of those people who do not take word by word explanations of scriptures from others unless I can read it myself because I have a strong background or understanding on how rhetoric works in this world. Such reasoning led me to eager to read the whole bible to find out where it clearly says that one cannot lose his or her salvation once saved. I have not find single scripture that express such statement; therefore I started to realize that it is an implied concept people trying to imply to scriptures to make it better fit what they think the scripture is trying to communicate. For instance, I truly believe that we are saved by grace not our works. That is absolutely the bottom line in a true Christianity belief. However, some people, especially in America have taken the word “grace” in different scopes. And often they imply their own reasoning and  philosophies. Yes, of course, none can forgive their own sins unless alone the blood of JESUS CHRIST.

However, my concern is, can GOD forgive you unless you repent your sins? Or since we are saved by grace through faith, isn’t it possible for one to lose their faith in GOD? Knowing that salvation comes through faith, and that people can lose their faith, in that case, how can the this puzzle fit to the reasoning of not losing salvation? For example, take into an account, people who start believing in GOD, once saved, but in the long run lost their faith in GOD and started to go in opposite direction and eventually die in their sins without repenting. What happens?… I know those who believe in “Internal Security” would answer, referring to 1 John 2:19, those kind people were never saved. If they were once saved, they would have remained in their faith. Also they would say that, the blood of Jesus covers their sins before, and after; they would still inherit heaven because heaven is not determined by your works, only rewards in heaven are determined by works. I call that an empty logical reasoning not only because it lacks biblical authority or explanation, but it also contradicts, Ezekiel 18:24, Hebrews 6:4-8, the teachings of Jesus CHRIST, to name few. What is your stand behind this, and how do would you go about explaining such misunderstanding and misuse of the word “grace” in the term of salvation and forgiveness and rewards in heave?  They often use two processes, “Justification and Sanctification” Can you still make it to heaven if you have Justification but lack sanctification by the time you die? or what if you  lack justification but you are sanctified? Or does it take both, regardless whether have one or not? Thank you Best Regards

[Bible Answer and more Bible Answers] Greetings in Jesus’ name. It is a blessing to read that you can see some of the glaring problems with eternal security (or once saved always saved). We believe it is the devil’s best lie that he ever infiltrated into Bible believing circles! It is a glaring license to sin, but at times presented with a mixture of false converts and never saved to begin with, which confuses the issue for some of the unwary. Of course, the false convert has nothing to do with the issue of once saved always saved. One must be truly saved (not a false convert) to qualify for any salvation security! 1 John 2:19 is not related to this. Those referred to in that passage were false teachers who didn’t believe Jesus was the Christ (v. 22)! They were glaring NON Christians! (Don’t let them confuse the issue of OSAS by citing 1 John 2:19.)

To even get born again one must repent (Lk. 13:3,5; 2 Pet. 3:9; Gal. 5:24; etc.). After he has been saved, his saving faith can be destroyed, shipwrecked, etc. (Lk. 8:13; 1 Tim. 1:19; 2 Tim. 2:18; Rom. 11:19-22). There have been many lethal spiritual casualties over the centuries and all sin is not of the same degree.

GRACE has been twisted and distorted by their teachers to conform to the heresy of once saved always saved – shocking but true! In fact, they have even done the same with the gospel itself! That is clear proof that their eternal security teaching is another gospel and those who preach it (Charles Stanley, James White, etc.) are indicted by Gal. 1:8,9. The real grace of God is explicitly described in Titus 2:11,12 as: “For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men. It teaches us to say ‘No’ to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age.” The false grace of once saved always saved ALLOWS FOR and PERMITS ungodliness and worldly passions and salvation too! Furthermore, to be precise, eternal security teaching allows for sexual immorality and salvation, while the Bible does NOT (1 Cor. 6:9,10; Eph. 5:5-7; Rev. 21:8; Gal. 5:19-21; etc.). Once saved always saved teachers, under their perversion of the “sin unto death” teach one can die in heinous unrepentant sin and be taken to heaven in such wickedness! They have a double message, but proponents seem unaware of such as long as they can continue in such a false security in their sins. They are GRACE changers, which Christians are to contend against (Jude 3,4).

Regarding loss of rewards, it is totally unlike what the eternal security teachers declare! The only passage which deals with this subject in detail is Mt. 6:1-18. Loss of rewards, according to Jesus, occurs when a righteous act (praying, fasting or giving to the poor) is done with the wrong motive, that is, to be honored by man here and now. It has nothing to do with adultery, suicide, etc. as Charles Stanley and others say!drunk eternal security Christian

By teaching the lie of eternal security, the holy image of a Christian has been smeared and the sin-liberating power of the gospel has been destroyed to allow for a Christian, bound for heaven, who can disown Jesus, visit prostitutes like the prodigal, commit adultery and murder like David, turn to idolatry like Solomon, etc. Again, Rev. 21:8 is most clear, but those people want their ears tickled, rather than the stirring truth. The devil has done a good job and multitudes with Bibles in their hands remain on the road to hell believing they are bound for heaven!

Are you aware of our 801 page book, which thoroughly refutes eternal security? It will help you much better understand this salvation-related issue. It has over 700 footnotes, detailing the exact teachings of their leaders. If you are interested, you can order here. YES, I Want To Buy The Believer’s Conditional Security  Eternal Security Refuted. John Hagee Is a Blatant FALSE TEACHER

John Hagee john hagee is a blatant FALSE TEACHER. Regarding his heresies, in 2007, John Hagee wrote a book entitled, In Defense Of Israel. Blazing and bold unscriptural declarations were made by John Hagee regarding the Lord Jesus’ personal claims!

Some might think John Hagee advertized his book that way as a publicity stunt to draw attention to it, but even that would show Hagee was willing to jeopardize the most precious truths about the Lord Jesus’ identity, which could adversely affect the salvation of souls for his own personal gain. John Hagee is a blazing false teacher, whose ministry continues to flourish, irrespective of his false teachings about the Lord Jesus. Very few professing Christians are moved by truth in our apostate day. [The same can be said about the popularity of false prophet Benny Hinn!]

John Hagee Teaches

I’m delighted to present my latest book, “In Defense of Israel.” This book will expose the sins of the fathers in the vicious abuse of the Jewish people. “In Defense of Israel” will shake Christian theology. It Scripturally proves that the Jewish people, as a whole, did not reject Jesus as Messiah. It will also prove that Jesus did not come to Earth to be the Messiah. It will prove that there was a Calvary conspiracy between Rome, the high priest and Herod to execute Jesus as an insurrectionist too dangerous to live. Since Jesus refused by word and deed to claim to be the Messiah, how can the Jews be blamed for rejecting what was never offered?

For John Hagee to say Jesus refused by word and deed to claim to be the Messiah is boldly antithetical to Bible truth, but that is his teaching! The Bible is explicitly clear in revealing John Hagee’s deadly poisonous teachings.

Jesus Verbally Identified Himself As Messiah (the Christ)

The woman said, “I know that Messiah” (called Christ) “is coming. When he comes, he will explain everything to us.” Then Jesus declared, “I who speak to you am he.”  (John 4:25,26)

But Jesus remained silent and gave no answer. Again the high priest asked him, “Are you the Christ, the Son of the Blessed One?”  “I am,” said Jesus. “And you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven.”  (Mark 14:61,62)

Simon Peter answered, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”  Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by man, but by my Father in heaven.” Then he warned his disciples not to tell anyone that he was the Christ. (Mat 16:16,17,20)

He said to them, “How foolish you are, and how slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken! Did not the Christ have to suffer these things and then enter his glory?” And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he explained to them what was said in all the Scriptures concerning himself.  (Luke 24:25-27)

For many will come in my name, claiming, “I am the Christ,”  and will deceive many.  (Mat 24:5)

And they began to accuse him, saying, “We have found this man subverting our nation. He opposes payment of taxes to Caesar and claims to be Christ, a king.” So Pilate asked Jesus, “Are you the king of the Jews?” “Yes, it is as you say,” Jesus replied.  (Luke 23:2,3)

Jesus Is Messiah in Deed

The Jews gathered around him, saying, “How long will you keep us in suspense? If you are the Christ, tell us plainly.” Jesus answered, “I did tell you, but you do not believe. The miracles I do in my Father’s name speak for me” (John 10:24,25)

But if I do it, even though you do not believe me, believe the miracles, that you may know and understand that the Father is in me, and I in the Father.  (John 10:38)

Believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me; or at least believe on the evidence of the miracles themselves.  (John 14:11)

If I had not done among them what no one else did, they would not be guilty of sin. But now they have seen these miracles, and yet they have hated both me and my Father.  (John 15:24)

Peter corroborates with this:

Men of Israel, listen to this: Jesus of Nazareth was a man accredited by God to you by miracles, wonders and signs, which God did among you through him, as you yourselves know. (Acts 2:22)

Jesus specifically came into the world, as he stated here:

“You are a king, then!” said Pilate. Jesus answered, “You are right in saying I am a king. In fact, for this reason I was born, and for this I came into the world, to testify to the truth. Everyone on the side of truth listens to me.” (John 18:37)

Part of the truth Jesus testified to was his own identity as Messiah, yet John Hagee denies this! Jesus also came to earth for multiple other important reasons too.

Therefore let all Israel be assured of this: God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ. (Acts 2:36)

Unlike John Hagee The Lord’s Disciples Blamed The Jews

John Hagee says: “...how can the Jews be blamed for rejecting what was never offered?”  NOTE: The Lord’s disciples believed they could be rightly blamed!

You stiff-necked people, with uncircumcised hearts and ears! You are just like your fathers: You always resist the Holy Spirit! Was there ever a prophet your fathers did not persecute? They even killed those who predicted the coming of the Righteous One. And now you have betrayed and murdered him—  (Acts 7:51,52)

Then Paul and Barnabas answered them boldly: “We had to speak the word of God to you first. Since you reject it and do not consider yourselves worthy of eternal life, we now turn to the Gentiles.” (Acts 13:46)

Then know this, you and all the people of Israel: It is by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified but whom God raised from the dead, that this man stands before you healed. He is “the stone you builders rejected, which has become the capstone.”  (Acts 4:10,11)

Was John Hagee Confusing The Issue

If John Hagee was trying to confuse the meaning of Messiah (or Christ) to only a future position when Jesus would take on the throne of David during the millennium, he is also disproven by Holy Writ. The following were written before Jesus’ millennium reign:

Who is the liar? It is the man who denies that Jesus is the Christ. Such a man is the antichrist–he denies the Father and the Son. (1 John 2:22)

Many deceivers, who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh, have gone out into the world. Any such person is the deceiver and the antichrist.  (2 John 1:7)

And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world. (1 John 4:14)

Again, the context of those passages is before Jesus reigns on the throne of David. John Hagee is exposed as teaching falsely about Jesus’ own personal claims about himself! Shocking! Saints, BEWARE of John Hagee and warn others.

John Schneider Must Be Another OSAS Christian

In an interview with actor, John Schneider, he identified himself in a most disturbing way, yet he claims to be a Christian. His self description is another strike against the holy image of Christian, but consistent with the heresy of eternal security. First, his words are cited, then the Scriptures to the opposite:

FOX411: You’re born again?

Schneider: Yup, it’s been a while since I’ve been to church, but you don’t get unborn again. It’s been so long I’d rather not go there. whiskey bottleI make movies about people who kill each other justifiably, and Christians do not like me that much anymore because I drink whiskey and I believe that my relationship with God is between me and God, kind of a Johnny Cash thing. I’m not a Christian for your benefit. I’m a Christian for my benefit and how I walk my walk is my business, and how you walk your walk is your business. It’s kind of a box people put me in. I might have jumped in that box, I might have even built some of it around myself years ago. Things change. I don’t care who people marry or what people drink. I care that people are honest and they’re not trying to take something away from me that I’ve worked hard to give my kids. ( http://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/2014/02/25/qa-john-schneider-on-working-for-tyler-perry-dukes-god-and-his-dad/  )

Bible Truth

Schneider spouted off the old false grace cliche that one can’t get unborn, which strongly shows some once saved always saved contamination, since that is uniquely their feeble argument. NOTE: Christians don’t say one can get unborn. Instead, they say a righteous man will die spiritually if he turns to evil (Ezek. 33:18; Rom. 8:12,13; etc.)

Is John Schneider’s self description consistent with a real Christian? Look at the evidence for yourself:

We know that we have come to know him if we obey his commands. The man who says, “I know him,” but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in him.  (1 John 2:3,4)

Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God (1 Cor. 6:9,10, NASB).

and, once made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him  (Heb 5:9)

But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves to God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life.  (Rom 6:22)

The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. (Gal 6:8,9)

Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires. (Gal 5:24)

King Asa’s End of Life Departure From The Faith

Elderly saints, listen carefully and TAKE WARNING from King Asa! Don’t rest in the fact that you followed Jesus for many years, even decades. Others have too, then afterwards departed from the faith to their spiritual death and hell! king asaIt has happened and could happen to you! These undeniable facts prove as long as we are alive, we will have to walk guarded and keep our lamps burning. The devil will never stop trying to recapture your soul. If you grow lukewarm at any age you will be spued out of Jesus’ body (Rev. 3:16). There is NO retirement for the servants of God, as with the world. Jesus taught his disciples, All men will hate you because of me, but he who stands firm to the end will be saved (Mat 10:22). The long list of those who have departed from the faith over various issues and temptations should be enough to cause us all to be very careful, but it becomes even more scary when we consider that some of the ones who turned away were in their later years, at the very end of their lives, like King Asa!

King Asa Backslid Five Years Before His Death

King Asa had a very impressive start with God. In fact, he was fully committed until the time of about five years before his death (2 Chron. 15:17). During the time when he was faithful we see that even his own grandmother’s idolatry wasn’t tolerated:

King Asa also deposed his grandmother Maacah from her position as queen mother, because she had made a repulsive Asherah pole. Asa cut the pole down, broke it up and burned it in the Kidron Valley. Although he did not remove the high places from Israel, Asa’s heart was fully committed to the LORD all his life. (2 Chr 15:16,17)

After that, in the 36th year of his reign, King Asa’s heart started to backslide. Here it is chronicled, showing a very sad downhill slide away from God:

In the thirty-sixth year of Asa’s reign Baasha king of Israel went up against Judah and fortified Ramah to prevent anyone from leaving or entering the territory of Asa king of Judah. Asa then took the silver and gold out of the treasuries of the Lord’s temple and of his own palace and sent it to Ben-Hadad king of Aram, who was ruling in Damascus. (2 Chr 16:1,2)

King Asa’s sin there is revealed to be his reliance upon a mighty army with great numbers of chariots and horsemen rather than the LORD (2 Chr 16:8). The prophet that pointed such things out caused King Asa to get angry with him. In fact, he was so enraged that he put him in prison! At the same time, Asa brutally oppressed some of the people (2 Chr 16:10)! More sin is revealed in Asa’s life:

In the thirty-ninth year of his reign Asa was afflicted with a disease in his feet. Though his disease was severe, even in his illness he did not seek help from the LORD, but only from the physicians. Then in the forty-first year of his reign Asa died and rested with his fathers. (2 Chr 16:12,13)

Two years before his death, King Asa was physically afflicted, yet never went to God for healing! He only went to physicians of the day, until he died! At an earlier point in his reign, a prophet told King Asa:

Listen to me, Asa and all Judah and Benjamin. The LORD is with you when you are with him. If you seek him, he will be found by you, but if you forsake him, he will forsake you. (2 Chr 15:2)

No Seniority With God

Folks, there is no seniority with God. Where you are spiritually at the point of your death determines if you go to God’s paradise kingdom or eternal fire. Asa forsook God toward the end of his life and God forsook him (2 Chron. 15:2)! There is no evidence to show he returned. His departure from the faith happened after dozens of years of being fully committed to God! Saints, remember King Asa and hold on to what you have so that no man will take your crown (Rev. 3:11). Timothy was told to fan into flame the gift within him (2 Tim. 1:5-7), implying he might have been cooling off too! Note the tendency. It is not to automatically grow, mature or become more zealous. Again, be dressed ready for service and keep your lamps burning (Luke 12:35). Guard your life:

If I tell the righteous man that he will surely live, but then he trusts in his righteousness and does evil, none of the righteous things he has done will be remembered; he will die for the evil he has done. (Ezek 33:13)

We have come to share in Christ if we hold firmly till the end the confidence we had at first.  (Heb 3:14)

Hank William’s House Of Gold

House of Gold is a powerful Bible-based gospel song written by Hank Williams (born Hiram King Williams) with lyrics related to material riches and the ultimate importance of salvation. hank williamsCountry and Western singer, Hank Williams (1923-1953) wrote this, but don’t think that as an alcoholic he himself was either godly or an example of a Christian at the end of his life. He surely wasn’t! At 29 years of age when he died, he also had already gone through two marriages in a day when divorce and remarriage was not popular!

Apparently, Hank Williams had some acquaintance with God’s word, like Elvis Presley, Whitney Houston and others, but seemingly departed from this life in a very sad spiritual way. [BTW, Hank Williams also originally wrote over twenty gospel songs, including I Saw The Light and Where The Soul Of Man Never Dies.] Though unclear, it is possible that Hank Williams too was a victim of once saved always saved teaching, as some of his songs may suggest. Surely, untold millions are in a fiery place of torment now because of that false gospel.

House Of Gold Lyrics by Hank Williams, Sr.

People steal, they cheat and lie
For wealth and what it will buy
Don’t they know on the judgement day
Gold and silver will melt away

I’d rather be in a deep, dark grave
And know that my poor soul was saved
Than to live in this world in a house of gold
And deny my God and lose my soul

What good is gold and silver, too
If your heart’s not good and true
Sinner hear me when I say
Fall down upon your knees and pray

I’d rather be in a deep, dark grave
And know that my poor soul was saved
Than to live in this world in a house of gold
And deny my God and lose my soul

There is a house of gold (city of gold) awaiting the saints one day who fight the good fight and are pure in heart (Mt. 5:8). It is commonly called New Jerusalem and it is reserved only for the overcomers, who put God’s word into practice (Lk. 8:21) and endure to the end:

The wall was made of jasper, and the city of pure gold, as pure as glass. (Rev 21:18)

Hank William’s spiritual race is over forever, but for us it presently remains. Press on and don’t give up sowing to please the Spirit to reap eternal life (Gal. 6:8,9). Remember, hard is the road that leads to life (Mt. 7:14) and many are called but few are chosen (Mt. 22:14)! Do you know Jesus NOW? [House of Gold sung by Lee and The Boys.]

Jamie Coots, Another Snake Handling Fatality

On February 15, 2014, Jamie Coots, a snake handling Pentecostal pastor, died from a poisonous snake bite. It was not the first time he was bitten. Years earlier he lost part of a finger to a snake bite. His premature death has followed far too many with the same distorted practice and misapplication of Scripture — people like Pastor Mark Randall “Mack” Wolford, Mack Ray Wolford, John Holbrook and George Went Hensley. Few could doubt the snake handlers sincerity, but that doesn’t mean they are rightly dividing the word of truth. To intentionally handle snakes, as they boldly do for proof of salvation, etc., is tempting God to protect them. Just like the Jehovah’s Witnesses who have lost some of their own through a denial of a blood transfusion, snake handlers die prematurely and senselessly through a misuse of Scripture.

When Paul was snake bitten, he didn’t intentionally handle that snake. Also, he killed it afterwards by throwing it in the fire (Acts 28:3-5). There is no connection between Paul’s experience and what the snake handlers do in our day. [Below is a video of Jame Coots when he was still alive.]

Good Hatred and Bad Hatred

Hatred is a good indicator as to where you are spiritually! Most would tend to immediately think all hatred is bad and a sign of being lost spiritually, but if our hatred is towards evil and falsehood, it is actually a good indicator of our present spirituality!

The Bad Hatred

The bad hatred some have towards the righteous and God’s truth reflects such a person is traveling on the road to eternal torment, with the multitudes. hatredThe Bible is explicitly clear about this form of murder:

Anyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life in him. (1 John 3:15)

Since NO murderer has eternal life and hatred towards another is murder (1 John 3:15), then such hatred proves such a person is not a Christian (while he has such hatred). Before coming to initial salvation (getting born again), a general tendency of all of us is, we were hating others (Titus 3:5), which substantiates 1 John 3:15.  The context of 1 John 3:15 tells us more, as it focuses on Cain and Abel mentioned in Genesis 4:

Do not be like Cain, who belonged to the evil one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his own actions were evil and his brother’s were righteous. Do not be surprised, my brothers, if the world hates you. (1 John 3:12,13)

Cain hated his own natural brother, because he was doing the right things, just as the world will hate Christians today. Cain was a perfect example of the world, which unjustly persecutes the righteous for their obedience to God. He even murdered righteous Abel over that.

The Good Hatred

On the other hand, if you are spiritually healthy, you can’t just sit back and observe all the lies and evil flooding throughout our world without being stirred! Souls are perishing and something needs to be done.  Hence, we read of a godly hatred, which should be present in one’s life:

A righteous man hates falsehood …. (Prov 13:5)

I hate and despise falsehood, But I love Your law. (Psa 119:163)

Hate evil, you who love the LORD … (Psa 97:10)

The fear of the LORD is to hate evil … (Prov 8:13)

Abhor what is evil …. (Rom 12:9)

It is the righteous who hate falsehood (false doctrine), based on the criterion of the Bible. A prime example of hating falsehood is hating once saved always saved.  Dear reader, if you profess to be a Christian now, does that describe you now? Furthermore, do you hate sin? Sin is not only poison, it is deadly spiritual poison. It will kill the Christian and bring him to spiritual death. Sin is to be resisted and avoided and never toyed with. Jesus taught sin will drag you to hell (Mark 9:43-48). That hell warning, according to the context, was given to those who had already been saved (v.35)! There are also other such hell warnings to the saved found in Scripture, all of which would be impossible if eternal security was truth!

Hatred Is A Spiritual Litmus Paper

In conclusion, remember that hatred is a type of spiritual litmus paper reflecting one’s heart, litmus paper if it is presently alive or dead. To be halfhearted towards dangerous false doctrine and/or sin is to be lukewarm, which brings us to another hell warning given to Christians (Rev.3:15,16):

I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm–neither hot nor cold–I am about to spit you out of my mouth.

QUESTION: Do you HATE SIN AND FALSE DOCTRINE now, at this time? Note, the question was not if you ever hated evil, but do you HATE it NOW? If not, repent, draw near to God and strengthen yourself spiritually. You need that type of hatred, while not having any of the bad type of hatred mentioned formerly!

The Naked Truth About Naked Church

Nudist colonies have been around for a long time, catering to the people controlled by the flesh, but naked church doesn’t seem to be quite as new! Boldly at this counterfeit church, in Ivor, VA, you can totally or partly disrobe as you listen to the sermon and hug disrobed people afterwards. Of course, the naked pastor of naked church, Allen Parker, also does his Scripture twisting in the nude and the people there like it!  Parker argues that the most important times in Jesus’ life was when he was naked! He points out Jesus was naked when he was born, crucified and when he rose from the dead. That settles it! So, let’s get naked in church! [BTW, the crucifix hanging on the wall in the church building has Jesus crucified with clothes on!]

The Earliest Christians Wore Clothes In Their Church Meetings

Obviously, naked church is flagrantly unscriptural. In James’ day, he corrected a problem with the rich being given special privilege over the poor, but both rich and poor had clothes on in their church meetings! That is how the early Christians did it. They surely weren’t naked:

Suppose a man comes into your meeting wearing a gold ring and fine clothes, and a poor man in shabby clothes also comes in. If you show special attention to the man wearing fine clothes and say, “Here’s a good seat for you,” but say to the poor man, “You stand there” or “Sit on the floor by my feet,” have you not discriminated among yourselves and become judges with evil thoughts? Listen, my dear brothers: Has not God chosen those who are poor in the eyes of the world to be rich in faith and to inherit the kingdom he promised those who love him? (James 2:2-5)

Naked church is just another obvious wicked abomination, but certainly par for our despicable church day. We have one type of church offering free beer, another will kiss Mary statues, multitudes will make you feel comfortable in the vilest sins with salvation too, etc. and now naked church is perhaps the best for those addicted to pornography! After all, why look at nude pictures when you can see real naked bodies at church, even the preacher’s! So, come in your birthday suit and worship! Saints, it’s going to get darker than this. Don’t be surprised! Draw near to God and he’ll draw near to you.
